Terminator Genysis 6/10 if you give up trying to figure out the space time continuum stuff, it's a decent popcorn flick

San Andreas 7/10 not much plot and predictable, but it was non stop action. Solid popcorn flick, imo

That's pretty generous imo

I agree it was long yet in a movie called "Tomorrowland" I would have been ok if there was a lot of extra future. Instead it's 15-30 minutes too long of today time and when they finally arrive, it's a dismal unimpressive place run by a jaded uninspired House MD.

Nothing original at all, two thumbs down

I would've liked more exposition on the peak and fall of Tomorrowland, but I think the filmmakers didn't want a third Frank to cast. I recognize my bias here -- I'm a sucker for space age nostalgia but I kind of like the fact that Tomorrowland went to by outsmarting itself. The didn't go down a lot of the avenues they opened and obviously couldn't go far down the biggest one, Frank's love for and resulting bitterness toward a preteen girlbot. IMO Clooney sold that pretty well with scowls and pouts. I think he went through an entire movie without his smug head bob.

Chappie - the Hugh Jackman artificial intelligence movie......it was a .99 HD rental on Amazon so I thought I'd check it out.

1/10 utter garbage.


Mr. Holmes - Ian McKellan playing Sherlock Holmes is fantastic. But it's way too slow with not enough of Sherlock being the bad ass detective.

Spectre was a great thriller, but for a Bond movie the stakes just weren't high enough. Boiled down it was just a revenge movie. Again, as a stand alone movie: great. As a film of the Bond universe: so-so.

Netflix has the first two but not the other two so I just downloaded it off torrentz to watch at the appropiate time.

Rise of the Lychans is worth watching if you come across it. Kind of different than the others but really cool setting and atmosphere and tie in with the story.

I've watched a slew of good Xmas movies on the LMN & Hallmark channels the past month or more.

In particular "The Christmas Blessing" stands out. It's a continuation of another Christmas movie, but, can easily stand alone. The first movie is not as good as this second one. Concerns the death of mother(s) and the affect these deaths have on the men, women, and children they have left behind. Unlike most of these movies on these channels this one does not wrap everything up in a bright bow as the credits roll. There are further deaths, tragedy, suffering and boundless loss that cannot be reconciled. The acting is comprehensively terrific. The characters are fleshed out, their motives defined and sensible.

Don't miss this one.

The '71 film had Richard Harris as a trapper mauled by a bear and left for dead by his "friends" who are trying to push/pull a boat filled with animal pelts to water. It was terrific. Is the plot I described like the one in The Revenant?
