The Thing 9/10
SlapShot 9/10
Caught these on HDNet over the weekend. Slight bias as these are two of my favorites.

Vidi, Vici, Veni
That movie is a 10/10. Flawless imo
I almost recorded the The Thing the other night. I can't figure out why I didn't. That movie sets the standard for classic horror.
The chest/stomach mouth gets me every time. And that dog might have given the best performance in the entire flick. Creepy as fuck.
Great flick.
Theaters: Blue Valentine 7.5/10...I thought it was a good movie, but it was missing something. It was really depressing and it actually sparked a little disagreement between me and my better half. I was blaming Michelle Williams (Cindy) character for the decay and she blamed Ryan Gosling (Dean). Though, it did kind of illustrate the best ending for what really goes on in relationships that don't last.
T.V. Blue-Ray: Wyatt Earp 6/10...not nearly as quotable as Tombstone (8/10), but more historically accurate and it was in the middle of Kevin Costner's quasi-dominance of movies (Field of Dreams, Dances, and the like...). It was also drawn out and really lacked the pow factor of a worthy Doc Holiday.
the freshman 8/10.......because of the vodka martini's
"clark this, clark that, daddy daddy" had me rolling
Winter's Bone 7/10
Good performances, nicely shot but it just didn't reel me in.
Some of you will absolutely hate this movie.
The Proposition
9/10
One of the best westerns ever made imo
Cube 9.2/10
R.I.P. Whottt
The Devils Backbone
5/10
I Spit on Your Grave _/10
This is the new one, not the orig. from '78. Don't know what to rate this one. I did not enjoy it but it is not my type of movie at all. It was a good movie with good acting, solid script, and lasted just long enough. The main character girl makes Charles Bronson look like Bryant Gumbel.
Shutter Island
4/10
The Tillman Story 11/10
Rango
thin plot, some confusing points, but cool characters and animation.
7/10
127 Hours
8/10
Battle: Los Angeles
8.5/10
Felt like there could've been a little.. more.. but the way the story was laid out prevented that. Good movie though. Will probably watch it again when it comes out on DVD.
The Man From Nowhere
Pretty fuckin awesome 8/10
The Crazies
Pretty solid zombie flick. A very nice deviation from the typical zombie story.
8.5/10
Eyes Wide Shut: WTF/10
Sleepaway Camp
6/10
Totally fucked up ending
Best in Show 7/10
A Great Wall 9/10
Wallstreet 9/10
Beat Street 7/10
Contact 9/10
Strange Days 7.5/10
Perhaps what we most need is a kick in our complacency, to prepare us for what lies ahead. - Jean Luc Picard (ST:TNG, Q Who)
Tell people something they know already and they will thank you for it. Tell them something new and they will hate you for it. - George Monbiot http://www.monbiot.com/
Shutter Island 4/10
The Single Man - 8.5
Code:[QUOTE=MannyIsGod] Joe Chalupa is Keith Bogans
The Adjustment Bureau - 6/10. Sad, as it had more potential than that, but still fun to watch.
Cedar Rapids - 8/10. Great comedy.
ROME- The complete series on Blu-Ray....
Just finished watching season I...not too bad...
12 episodes leading up to Julius Ceasar's murder...
Anyone see this when it came out?
Highly recommend the Blu-Ray...
Looks like I gotta squeeze in season -2 between work, spurs games, daily activities,etc...
Any one love or hate this show?
Battle LA
7/10
Not bad, but very predictable. -1 point for not blowing up the staples center or disneyland.
9/10--I had to watch it for a film class and it was more entertaining than I thought. It's somewhat lighthearted and uplifting. If you have the chance, go see it.
Hall Pass
5/10
A good laugh here and there, but ultimately not that good.
