Maybe he's refering to the Eurobasket qualifiers. Those don't start until the end of August though, so there is no overlap with the Summer League.

Hopefully he gets a chance to compete for a slot. Can't be a worse option at the 14-15 slot than KMart or Rusual Butler

Spurs should move Hanga for a second round pick if they don't plan to sign him.

RC said to the express regarding the stashed players:

“I would guess at least one of those guys (will join the Spurs),” Buford said. “Maybe more.”
    Is the "more" Hanga?

Probably Jean-Charles and maybe Milutinov. People can say what they want about LJC "not being an NBA player", but the dude did the team a major solid by not coming over right away. They aren't going to him around and then just cut him loose. Would love to see Hanga, though.

It's hard to make it as a defensive wing player if you aren't far above average on that end. From what I have seen Hanga's impact on that end mostly comes from leveraging his superior athleticism to get steals and blocks. But then again it's pretty tough to evaluate individual defense in Europe because you just don't see too many isolations.

In the end I think he just doesn't have enough going for him that would set him apart from your average D-League prospect to warrant a roster spot. But I would be glad if he proved me wrong.

Question would you rather have him or Simmons?

I like Simmons quite a bit so this is probably not a fair question to ask. I'll just say that Hanga is about half a year older than Simmons so there is not exactly a lot of untapped potential there. With Bertans, Simmons, Anderson (and LJC) on the roster it's hard to see him getting a chance any time soon.

Hopefully he gets a shot next season. He'll be 28 but have played and won at the highest level in Europe.

Here is a video showing most/all of Hanga's points against GB:

His shot looks pretty good (maybe his elbow sticks out a tad much) but last season he only shot 30.4% from 3, so I would take this performance with more than a grain of salt. It's good to see him handling the ball more with this team.

Maybe a two-way contract candidate once that happens

Hanga will be 28 by the time the next season starts. He is pretty much what he is going to be as a player (still a 30% shooter from 3 this season). I think Milutinov would be a better candidate. He only gets 10.8 minutes per game with Olympiacos (even down from last year's 11.2).

Can't see any way in Nikola agrees to that when he has a $10M/4 deal waiting for him whenever he feels like it.

Unfortunately Milutinov hasn't shown any improvement so far this season. Still doesn't play much, still fouls a lot.
