All we need is a solid backup to Kawhi/Simmons insurance. Think he'll do just fine.
Wish he was a better 3 shooter.

If he develops a decent 3 shoot he could easily be our starting SG
And this is why using late-seconds on stashes makes a ton of sense. You just collect rights and see what happens. They've had no success selecting American athletes late and hoping they could stay over.
any chance spurs get this guy next season? i'm almost sure simmons and mills going to get paid and leave.
Only way I don't see it happening is if there's a money issue. Dude would probably get a nice deal in Europe.
IF? Why IF? Spurs need him with or without Manu.
So is Hanga actually good now? All I remember is how he looked awful 2-3 years ago and the consensus was he'd never make it to the NBA level.
I actually always liked him. But there was a consensus that he had low upside because of his age
For the role that we will ask him to fill it doesn't bother me that his upside is limited because of age. I'd rather have him on a relatively cheap contract than Simmons at somewhere north of $10.
He was just an athlete who couldn't shoot. Mostly transition.
Still can't shoot very well, but the rest of his game has matured. Better ball handling, better discipline on defense, better decision making. He's improved overall quite a bit.
Best perimeter defender in Europe since Diamantidis, it is probably better that Sefolosha was in OKC
Sefolosha is a good comparison TBH, but Hanga is a worse shooter, but much better playmaker.
Article talks about the strengths and weaknesses of Hanga

Having a pretty good game right now in the spanish league's semifinal. 8 pts in the first quarter, forced turnovers and passing well (Laprovitolla blew an easy layup that would be a Hanga assist, lol).
Love the backdoor cut in this video. It will be nice to have someone who really knows how to play off the ball.
He scored 18 points on 8 shots, 5 rebounds, 5 assists. Not too shabby. I noticed the former Maverick's savior, Robby Beabois had 5 points in 3 minutes...
I think that is something our offense missed when Belinelli and his "beli-cuts" left.
