Daenyrs is the worst part about the last book, she singlehandedly convinced me that Martin has no ing clue how to wrap this story up
In all seriousness, I don't think Martin has Robert Jordan'ed the series quite yet. I did get pretty irritated about the constant moaning from Daenerys in Dance with Dragons though.

I just recently started watching this show.
What's the hype about? I'm on episode 7 of season 1 and so far there has been alot of talking and some sex.
After watching the first episode I got excited about seeing the supernatural creature but they have been MIA since ep 1.
Will it pick up or what? No spoilers please...
The supernatural/fantasy stuff is there but it's not really what Martin's creation is about. It'll come in tiny spurts and completely change the storylines, but it's not the main focus. You're about to see some crazy in this second season tho.
I think Harry Potter is more your style.

These stories are more about politics, plots, schemes, and changing your opinion about who is "right" "wrong" "good" or "evil", with a healthy dosage of death and ruthlessness among the way.

I really like the Dyneries (or however you spell her name) sub-plot. Its interesting how she went from being used to liking her new role as queen of the mongols.
Lena Headey is hot too.
Lena is uber hot, I'm kinda disappointed we haven't seen her perkies yet

Well he just had the sense to separate Lord of the Rings as a trilogy and separate it from the later meandering/incomplete Silmarillion.
