Hopefully this season doesn't suck as much as the last one.
Hopefully this season doesn't suck as much as the last one.
Big bag of meh for episode 1.
It was a boring episode. I didn't have any interest in anything that was happening. I hope they can recapture some of the magic from the early seasons, because it all became kind of re ed toward the end of last season.
so this is basically the producers creating their own version.... and the george martins will be completely different? This is like 2 head coaches... this season and the others could go sour quickly unfortunately..
episode 1 just seemed weird and not like the others...
They had like 8 plots at like 8 minutes each, and I hated just about all of them.
They've lost themselves. They don't prioritize, they don't weight plots for minute distribution, they have scattered storylines, and extended others which could have been solved by now.
I have a feeling they've effectively neutered Tyrian. Littlefinger was nowhere to be found.
But ing Oathkeeper saves the day! Yay!
And Jorah found the needle in a haystack! Yay!
And we get sad face from Marcella's demise. Aww!
And we get each equally alongside boring Tyrian in boring Myreen, and Jon Snows's lifeless body being guarded in a room.
And we saw a great grandmother's snatch.
So, I guess we should be thrilled.
George Martin is a producer on the show and has given them the storyline going forward since the books are not complete. So like the show or not, it is made with George Martin's blessing.
Oh ok I was confused with that
Y'all need to chill. It was a pretty dull premiere but it should pick up once they bring the white walkers into the picture again. I think they set the groundwork for Melissandre bringing Jon Snow back as well imo.
I don't think she brings him back. There is a theory that when they burn his body, he will be reborn with the fire like a Targaryan. That makes more sense if you ask me.
I am still having trouble unseeing that last 2 minutes. I'll never look at the red woman the same again. Please keep that ing necklace on.
Haha surprise surprise the show went to without Grrm source for them to pull from. What a episode. None of it made any damn sense
I think this is the route they will take. I wonder if they will use the same actor or a new one.
The Dorne plot is so awful.
and Meeren/Khaleesi strory... at least for me.
Agreed, it is a shame a great character like Tyrion got latched onto the Meereen storyline. Hard to really care about anything going on other than what's happening at Castle Black.
Dorne is still , not really a shocker after last season though. Mereen is boring, I figured by this season Dany would be wrapping it up over there, but it doesn't look like she'll be leaving any time soon. the old sparrow plot too, how does he have the authority to arrest the ing queen? I won't even address the plot holes.
I'm hoping the dialogue isn't all season, and this episode was just an outlier, but you can definitely feel GRRM writing is missed.
Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to seeing Jon come back, Arya turning into daredevil, and What Sansa and company do in the riverlands.
I've never been that interested in Dany's story, except for the nude scenes. I heard her plot is better in the books.
Nah still boring AF in the books
Boring, but better. Show did a ing awful job with the dorne. Literally just killed the one character who made dorne interesting
Winter is coming!!!
This is a classic case of a show outsmarting itself. GOT's was amazing because it was like 3-4 main story lines going on all at the same time. As the previous poster said, now it's 8 story lines with everyone getting the same amount of screen time. The Dorne thing is garbage. I'm not gonna give up on this show...I feel like it will come back but hopefully it doesnt go down the drain the way the walking dead did.
Oh and in other news GOT's is so popular porn sites lose millions of viewers during the premiere.
Not sure why people are complaining already. This first episode was setup. Aside from the continued Dorne mess, I'm excited to see where it goes. As far as the number of storylines, that's a symptom of the books as well. A Game of Thrones had eight perspective characters, A Dance with Dragons had thirty-one.
welcome back.......
