How'd he do?
Tip off against Barcelona is in 10 minutes if anyone wants to tune in.
How'd he do?
He only played a couple of minutes in the first half. Looked to be moving well but was beaten off the dribble quite easily for a couple of drives. But you could already see his impact one possession where the threat of his shot lead to the defense doubling him coming off a screen. He made a nice hook pass and found a guy for an easy shot. It will obviously take some more time for him to regain his shape.
His team pulled out quite a big win though with Hanga contributing some decent minutes as the energy guy. (Also Bourousis went off, lol)
played great firts half performance after returning from injury againts real madrid. 3/3 threes.

After a ten-month rehab Davis Bertans is Laboral Kutxa’s latest addition. And what a great one he is. The Latvian sharpshooter with unlimited range scored 11 points in only 16 minutes of play in Baskonia’s remarkable win over the reigning Euroleague champion Real Madrid. It was his second compe ive game of the season. His second game after tearing his right ACL almost a year ago.
“I feel great. I mean, I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time, so it feels great to be back on the court. And to start with two wins [against Barcelona and Real Madrid] is amazing”, he told us after the game.
Bertans injured his right knee last March in a Top 16 game against Emporio Armani. Shortly after, he had surgery to repair his torn ACL in San Antonio. The Spurs, the franchise that holds his NBA rights, oversaw the whole rehabbing process, just as they did in 2013, when Bertans torn the same ACL while playing for Partizan Belgrade. “As it was the second time, I was probably less anxious to play. I was just taking my time, just one step at a time. Not thinking too much ahead, just one day at a time”, he told us.
Thanks fir sharing Jyra. Really excited about him.
Ditto. Assuming he'll take either Bonner or rasuals roster spot next year.
If he makes it over... O-m-g the trade that keeps giving
we need this guy in san antonio
He has limitless range, my goodness! He needs to come asap
Will be playing live at 1:45pm central time on espn3
Playing small forward and power forward. His shot is beautiful. Has 5 pts so far. Corner three and a layup and 1 on an inbounds play. Seems lost on D. 3 fouls in 5 minutes. Time to wait till the second half. Seems quick in straight line drives. Doesn't look like he lost much speed if any.
He's instant offense. I think he could be used in catch and shoot situations like Red and Allen. He's good coming off screens.
Watching him in the post on one possession, he picked up a foul but he was easily moved. Probably best as a stretch four in small ball situations or against non offensive threat pfs. You can always hide him on the Brewer's and Ariza's of the world.

His game was made for today's NBA. He would hit so many open 3s with the Spurs it's crazy to think about it. If he plays fully healthy this season in Europe, I think it's time to bring him over.
one of the quickest 3pts shooters after saving himself from his man i have ever seen
Definitely. 8 pts 2/3 3pt. 8 mins 4 fouls though. Now 12 pts 3/4 3pt. Definitely our best prospect. And with 3 pt shooters at a premium he becomes a very valuable asset. It's unreal. If he can stay healthy though.
Should of passed to bertans...
Already envisioning a small ball lineup of Mills, Green, Leonard, Bertans, and Aldridge. I dare you to double.
His team won 90 - 64

Haven't really seen Bertans play for a while, but dang he looks like a man out there compared to when he drafted him when he was 18 he looked like a 15 year old kid. He really grew into his body, and looks NBA ready. They grow up so fast . Would like to see him gain a little more muscle though this summer. His shooting form is picture perfect. High, quick release and squares his body up pretty well towards the basket. His release reminds me of Ryan Anderson, but Davis has an even higher release imo. Davis shot is special, you can't teach that good shooting. Takes a special talent. Shows some good athleticism that imo will him adjust to the NBA athleticism quick. Hopefully he will continue to get better at putting the ball on the floor when players crowd him. Looks a little awkward taking it to the rim. I want to see how his defense is. He is not strong enough to guard fours, and may not be athletic enough on defense to guard a lot of starting 3's in this league. Hope he find his niche guarding a lot of backup 3's or stretch 4's in this league if he wants to play a good amount.
Bertan's team Laboral played Milutinov's Olympioacos last night in the euroleague. Olympiakos won easily 82-68, leading huge for most of the game. A lot of players with some Spurs connections took part.
Bertans didn't play well in the first half, but shot well in the second. Finished with 11 points but overall didn't have a huge impact.
Milutinov was mostly OK. Had less foul trouble worries than usually and scored some easy buckets that were spoon fed to him. Had 7 points and 3 boards in 15 minutes, but was manhandled on a few occasions by Bourousis under the basket.
Hanga started but didn't play too well, finished with 7 points in 32 minutes but definitely doesn't look like he has a NBA future at this point. Not that we didn't know it already.
Best players by far were Bourousis, Spanoulis ( hi KBP!) and our own (again) Printezis.
I just watched the first half but Bertans got beaten pretty badly by Printezis in the post. Bertans bit on a couple of up and unders and picked up fouls trying to bang with Printezis down low. Printezis had 13 points in the first quarter alone. Bertans wasn't responsible for all of them but he did let him get going while being held scoreless himself.
Milutinov had a nice block on a Hanga dunk attempt (see video below).

Pretty ridiculous two minute stretch for Bertans against Khimki just now. Chase down block, put back dunk and a step back three from way behind the line with a defender right in his face.
