Arsenal's long-awaited purchase of Germany striker Lukas Podolski from FC Cologne has been confirmed.
Podolski will join the Gunners in the summer, after reaching an agreement with the club about personal terms and passing a medical. Neither club has announced the transfer fee involved.
"The move to Arsenal provides a great opportunity for me to gain experience in international compe ions at a European top club," Podolski said. "I have made this decision not against FC Cologne but for this great opportunity and the good of my own individual development.
Now we only need Vertonghen and Demps to be staaaaaaaaaaacked.
Do you think the d-line is going to stay the same next year seeing as that was really the weak point of Arsenal this year? I hope that d-line is strengthened up at the least seeing as players were dropping like flies and some players were playing out of position for games here and there.
Koscielny and Vermaelen are fine. Mertesacker was just unlucky in injury (he got injured trying to play defense FFS). Bringing Vertonghen in will strengthen that back line and keep cokeheads like Sagna glued to the bench
Holiday today in Argentina, watching Citeh vs ManU from home
Sagna has been one of the most consistent players for Arsenal over the last years - and consistent in a good way, for the most part at least. By the way, Vertonghen is a left back, as far as I know.
Watching it right now. Lol rooney what a got.
Maradona in attendance.
fck cbf watchin the derby, just tune out..
Good game so far. City getting better by the minute. Yaya Toure is such an incredibly gifted footballer.
This game has been played at an incredibly frenetic pace...and where is Balotelli? Did they send his stupid ass back to Italy?
City is never going to score with those high crosses from the wings unless the defense f's up. Utd's back line is just too tall. Low crosses, counter attacks, great 1-2 passing and speed are the obvious choices here.
and they score with a header after I said that
Nice jinx
Yeah, that's what I thought as well. Those crosses won't help much against Utd. without someone like Balotelli or Dzeko inside.
Edit: ... or someone like Kompany on a set piece.
I was referring to Tevez and Aguero when I said that but here comes 6'3" Kompany with a header
Det was a juicy Kompany header.
Why the are these games always on when I'm at work?
Your point is still valid. Set pieces are a different matter.
Yeah, pure desire and determination, like some of those Puyol headers when he scores important goals.
Wasn't it Kompany who started the 6 goal slaughtering last time vs. United, also off a corner????
EDIT: No, never mind.
Smalling the scapegoat
