Nasri taunts Arsenal by claiming Manchester City will lift a trophy before the Gunners
Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has again risked the wrath of Arsenal fans by claiming his former club has no chance of ending their seven-year trophy drought before Roberto Mancini's men add to their own silverware collection.
Mikel Arteta’s late winner capped a miserable return to north London for Nasri on Sunday, whose City side are now eight points adrift of table-toppers Manchester United and are left with little or no chance of winning their first top flight le since 1968.
Nasri, who left Emirates Stadium for Manchester last summer, had previously claimed that his move was motivated by a desire to compete for major honours. And although the 24-year-old appears destined to end the season without a winners medal of any sort, he still believes he made the correct decision to abandon Arsenal
“I’m aware what I said about les,” Nasri wrote on Twitter. “I’m sure I will lift a trophy with Man City before AFC.
“And to all the Arsenal fans, move on. City are 10 points ahead of you.
“Just support your team and forget about me.”
