I don't know why not. He's quick enough
and has the ups to make some pretty good blocks. I don't think it's a stretch (ha ha) for him to dunk the ball when he's 3 feet from the goal. Instead of continually kicking it back out.

He had some pretty good blocks. He isn't afraid to dunk, it's just not primarily how he plays, which is okay. It's not like Rasho where his problems were all related to his lack of aggression. You just take what he gives you and he will get assertive when he feels it.

He dunks just fine. He's not a power player though. He needs to work on catch high, finish high, and the team needs to work with him as well on that.

I'm not even talking about dunking over someone. Just dropping in the bucket instead of trying a reverse or hook. Sometimes it seems like he doesn't realize how close he is. You hit the nail on the head about catch high finish high.

I don't think it's an epiphany that players like Pau are so successful because they are efficient in motion and they don't bring the ball down to the higher energy, faster and shorter players.

In order to catch high, finish high, Tiago has to think "finish" instead of "pass" when he's two steps from the rim with single coverage. That means plays have to be run for him and they have to understand his hands must be up the whole time. He keeps his hands low as if he's a guard.

If catch-high, finish-high were so easy, someone other than Pau Gasol would be good at it.

In fact, it was a play they ran for him that inspired me to start this thread. He was moving to the basket and someone lobbed a ball to him about rim high. It looked like he could have dropped it right in. Instead, he lands and turns his back to the rim and kicks it out. I was happy with his defense but we need something from him on the offense. Not a lot but enough to keep the opposing d honest. Especially with TD in decline.

Like I said all last year........he could never finish in Euroleague. So why people thought he would be some kind of 20/10 player in the NBA is truly bizarro world.

And YES, 80% of this forum guaranteed he would be a 20/10 player in the NBA.
I doubt you could find a link to one person's post saying that.

The overwhelming opinion and prediction of this forum was he would average 20/10 in the NBA.

Don't even try to deny that.
Then you should be able to find ten posts from different posters saying just that.

    I bet you can't.

Yeah you shouldn't have any problems finding all those predictions. I said the team would be better with him playing lots of minutes. I was right.
