Penn State sanctions are set to come down tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. and the football team has supposedly called an emergency meeting today. Some related tweets:

"Penn State sanctions expected to be extremely harsh and could even be perceived as more damaging long-term than "death penalty"

"Thee sanctions were not self-imposed or negotiated. This is Emmert taking a stand he felt he had to due to horrors in Freeh Report."

"Now we see why the statue came down today. Even to the end, Penn State's motives are garbage"
I do wonder if he'll be recruited like Wilson in addition to another guy.

The freshmen have been added to official roster on Mack's website:

Noticed Diggs switched to Jammer's number 6.
Sweet Moses, Frosted Tips strikes again.
I'm not sure how I feel about Nixon, obviously I'd like to see a Lake Travis kid work out at Texas. However, I'd like to see Texas take Catalon and then look out of state. OK RB Devon Thomas should get a long look.
I heard everybody at the event had to do a double take on Robinson b/c of his imposing size. But damn, that pic says it all.
I'm shocked his stock w/ ESPN rankings did not skyrocket more after the event. If you watched the footage of one-on-ones he simply dominated.
Article from W. Eberts on Daniel Gresham and subsequently Demetrius Knox --

"A commitment before next February isn't likely, as Gresham plans to sit down with Knox some time during their senior seasons, discuss their options and decide on a school together. Such package deals are commonly discussed and rarely actually happen, but the fact that the two already have a set plan bodes well for such a scenario unfolding."
Hoza Scott showed up to the Texas state 7-on-7 championships wearing a Texas A&M snapback hat on Friday. He wanted to make it clear which school was in the lead for his pledge.
“I went and bought this two days ago,” Scott said. “My mom wanted me to go buy it and show that A&M is No. 1. So that’s what I did.”
Interesting that his mother says she would like him to stay close to home but would prefer he attends school outside of Texas (LSU could be a factor...

A little conflicting
Gresham being offered at a Junior Day is pretty big news assuming he's on the same page with Applewhite.
How seriously Applewhite will pursue Thomas of Oklahoma and/or Starks of Las Vegas is one thing I'm most excited to watch for next year.

Lots of back-and-forth on Twitter between 2014 RB/FB Daniel Gresham and 2014 OL Demetrius Knox about Texas. Here are some quotes from them via 24/7:
“Texas will always be high on my list,” Knox told Hookem.com. “If you can succeed at Texas and see a lot of playing time, then it means you can succeed anywhere because they always have the best players. They can prepare me for the next level if that’s where life leads me.”
“I really like Coach (Stacy) Searels a lot,” said Knox. “He’s a great guy and we stay in touch all the time. I also like Coach (Mack) Brown a lot, too. He’s a good coach and even better person off the field. I really like both of their personalities honestly. I have a good relationship with them both. I enjoy getting to talk to them.”
“I talk to them quite often,” he explained. “Whenever I have a question about the university or the program, then sometimes I call a coach up just to talk about that. Sometimes I just call them to talk about football or just whatever really. I call and report to them quite a bit though. I’d say I’m in good standing with them for sure when it comes to keeping the lines of communication open.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I really like Texas a lot,” said Gresham. “They’re a great school for football and for academics. I’ve rooted them on for a while now and they are a place I could see myself going for sure. Texas is always one of the top schools in the nation, so I kind of like that.”
“Coach Applewhite talked to me and said that they want me to do it all,” he told Hookem.com. “They see me as a fullback, tight end, h-back and running back. To me, that’s very, very cool. I really like that idea.”
“Me and Demetrius talk about schools quite a bit,” explained Gresham. “We’re both going through our options. I think in the end we’ll sit down and have a big dinner with our families together and discuss those options. We have aspirations to go to the same college together, so we’re always seeing who’s getting what offer. We both like to keep in the know about each other for sure, which is good since we want to play together.”
Here's another defensive line prospect to keep in mind. Per 24/7, Oscar Giles visited Houston Worthing at the end of May to check on DE Neikemian Gills.
“Coach Giles stopped by right before school was out for the summer,” Gills told Hookem.com. “He told me he liked me and thought I was a good player. He said they would be evaluating me this season, so to keep up the good work because they need good linemen. They actually wanted me to come in for a camp in June, but I couldn’t make it.”
“I like them a lot,” said Gills. “The Longhorns are really my favorite team. I grew up liking them, so I’ve been a fan ever since I was a little kid.”
“I feel like I’m an explosive player,” Gills explained. “I’m fast off the edge, have long arms to get people off me and I’m always hungry. I love getting after the quarterback. I’m really good at it.”
Summary of the Penn State penalties. It's pretty damn bad:
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/24/sp...pagewanted=all
Quotes from OL/DL Jake Raulerson on his future college position (OrangeBloods):
"I don't think I'm fast enough for defensive end. I think I can play it if I need to, but when I get there I can see myself playing offensive line," Raulerson said. "So there's the answer to everyone's question - offensive line."
"People need to stop worrying about my weight. I see it all the time. I'm going to fit somewhere. They can wait and see, but I can gain weight. It's not a problem," Raulerson said.
"The thing is, I'm playing on both sides of the ball (in high school). With a 100-plus plays, it's hard to maintain weight," Raulerson said. "People are so worried about my weight, but people don't need to worry about that. I see it everywhere - can he gain enough weight? Can he do this or that? I can be 290 and play at center."
"I just think I can read plays. You need a smart player at center and I think I can learn things quickly," he said. "A guy who can snap the ball is very crucial. If you can't get the ball to the quarterback, you're not going to have a play at all. You can snap the ball and get blown back 20 yards, but you have to get the ball to him to start the play. I'm not saying I'm ever going to get blown back 20 yards, but I think center is maybe the most important job spot besides quarterback and left tackle. You're the quarterback of the offensive line. You have to know what to do. If you don't, you're in trouble."
"He (Maurkice Pouncey) just said to keep working at it. He said I have a great work ethic, a great desire to be at the top and work hard. He said it's all going to come and that I don't need to worry about my weight, it will be fine," Raulerson said. "He said, 'You're going to naturally gain weight and it's incredible how big guys get from one year to then next.' I'm graduating early. If need be, I might redshirt. I don't know. It's their call but I can see myself redshirting. If I have a half a year and then another full year to gain weight, in two years from now you could see me at 300 pounds."
I don't even know how to describe it, but does anyone else find it eerie that Paterno's last registered win had McQueary as the Penn State QB? Crazy how that worked out.
