Gotta love raulerson lol
Texas finally made contact with ATH Stanvon Taylor of Tulsa, OK today. He and Duane Akina chatted briefly and he was extended a JD2 invite although he won't be able to attend. Should be some more information later and quotes from Taylor.

Ricky Seals-Jones is officially Longhorn commitment #6.
@JakeRaulerson55
2013 longhorn class is Rollin.. #BOOM #Hookem
OL Darius James was offered by Florida today, per 24/7.
Raulerson seems like an early leader/recruiter for yalls 2013 class. Great to have someone like that imo... we need one. Might be Kohl Stewart, but who knows.
Ricky sure looks good in that burnt orange

Hello East/West offense --
kbohls @kbohls
I'm told former Texas asst Greg Davis has taken Iowa OC job; 247's Bobby Burton first mentioned Iowa's interest in GD. #ut
Quotes from ATH Ricky Seals-Jones after his commitment to UT (24/7):
“I just knew when I went there (for the Feb. 12 junior day) it was the right school for me,” Seals-Jones said shortly after he made his commitment on Wednesday afternoon.
“I sat down and talked with my parents after we got back from the junior day,” he said. “We talked about it and felt like that was a great place to go to and try to win a national championship.”
“Talking to the coaches, the players, looking at the campus, it dawned on me and felt like it was home,” he said.
“I talked about trying to play receiver, but whatever I have to do to help the team win I’ll do it,” he said.
“They were all in there mixed up until I went in there for Texas’ junior day and felt like that was the best school for me.”
Quotes from DB Maurice Smith of Fort Bend Dulles as he prepares for JD2 (HornsNation):
“It’s either me or another kid (as the best CB in the state), Antwuan Davis,” Smith said. “I’m very competitive. Everywhere I go, I want to make sure I stand out and reach my potential. I know how good I can do. I don’t like to get beat in anything.”
“I’ve been looking forward to it my whole life, really,” Smith said. “That’s my dream school (Texas). If I do get the offer, it’s going to feel like a dream come true. If I don’t, I just have to work harder I guess.”
“I come from a family where you don’t do something like that,” he said. “I want to make sure when I commit it’s going to be for a lifetime and something I won’t regret.”
Free ESPN article on RSJ commitment -
http://espn.go.com/colleges/texas/fo...exas-longhorns
"I got 50 calls a day from schools from across the country, from conferences across the country," Mitchell said (Ricky's coach). "You try and show them the type of respect and courtesy they need but there are so many of them it's impossible."
That included the dozen or so calls Mitchell received from Alabama on Wednesday. As the Crimson Tide were calling, however, Seals-Jones was in Mitchell's office making a call to the Longhorns to give them his verbal commitment.
Exciting times. This team is going to have some serious athletes on the field a couple of seasons from now.
Jesus Christ Bama. 105 letters to one recruit, 200+ offers a year, and now calling RSJ's coach a dozen times on the day he's going to commit to Texas. When are kids going to get turned off by this shit?
If the most beautiful girl in your HS kept calling you the day of the prom (even though you already have a date) would you be mad and get turned off by it?? Worst part of all, its just prom. She won't stop bothering you until you get married.

WR Robbie Rhodes will not be attending JD2 this weekend according to 24/7.
A Rivals reporter from the Southeast has reported that Texas may have reached out to four-star S Vonn Bell of Rossville, GA.

Akina is searching far and wide. It's interesting that he's reached out to 3 OOS safeties and only 1 corner.

I'm happy to see Ateman on there. Wescott Eberts really likes his game, as do I. Give me Massington head to head, but Ateman can ball. Clock is ticking Samples...
It could be much worse - hopefully, that's the lowest thing they're doing but I doubt it.
What makes it even stranger is that RSJ NEVER expressed any interest in Alabama. In fact, he only visited LSU because his brother suggested it. He's been all Texas for awhile.
Bama and LSU are being aggressive as hell in Texas this year. Thanks a bunch Aggies.
Reminder that spring ball starts TODAY! Could we have commitment #7?
Durham Smythe - @D_Smythe88
Excited to be back in Austin for Spring Practice tomorrow #UT
I haven't seen any quotes from him that he'll definitely be there, but the two Wylie East boys have talked about it. I'm not expecting either of them to show hence the red.
Tommy Tubberville's wife in trouble?

Good stuff of Smythe. It certainly bodes well. I bet Ash has been working this one hard behind the scenes.
I don't think Samples is under any pressure to commit, but Texas would wise to offer Massington to hedge their bets. Honestly, I love Samples' game, but I like Massington's size / speed better.
Highlights of WR Eldridge Massington for those who haven't seen him yet:

LB Deoundrei Davis was offered by A&M this morning (24/7). Both of his parents and little sister will be in Austin with him on Saturday.
Sweet! I really like his tape and hope to see him in burned orange! Actually, I think that his tape reminds alot of Reuben Fosters tape.
A brief tidbit on DB Marcell Harris from Rivals:
While most believe that Florida is the top team for Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips safety Marcell Harris, due to his father having played for the Gators and the school's proximity to home, sources indicate that the Texas Longhorns remain a serious contender for his services. Harris isn't likely to make a decision until after he visits a few more schools such as Notre Dame and Ohio State.
Foster is simply on a different level than everyone else in the country but he and Davs both have violent tendencies. Watch Davis' block on the punt return at 1:45.
