WR Jake Oliver, LB Mike Mitc and DB Maurice Smith all received invites to Nike's The Opening later on this summer after their performance yesterday.
Two different stories out there right now.
OrangeBloods reporting that he's been in touch with the staff in the past week and will be in Austin on Sunday and 24/7 saying he's barely talked to the staff since JD2 and isn't sure if he'll make it to Austin. Both straight from the horse's mouth according to what was written. Odd.

This is correct according to 24/7 this morning. He broke the same ankle that he had broken once before.
Kabongo coming back for soph year -

Smart move. Kabongo isn't ready at all for the NBA. I wish Brown would stay, but I understand him leaving if he chooses to do so.
To clear up some things with DE Torrodney Prevot, Giles put in a call today to formally invite him, 2014 CB Chris Hardeman and 2014 WR Keenen Brown to Austin this weekend. Sounds like any issues with communication in the past few weeks have been taken care of.

J'Covan Brown's "leaning" toward returning to #Longhorns for senior season, per his father Johnny.
Would be very surprising. Only way this happens is if he's projected to not be drafted.
Rivals having an event this summer very much like Nike's The Opening; only the best of the best invited.

This may have been written due to the 'communication issues' and Prevot not feeling wanted, but from Gerry posted earlier today -

Torrodney Prevot, DE, Alief (Texas) Taylor
Prevot took home the defensive line award on Sunday, which was not a surprise. His blend of first step quickness, change of direction ability, long arms, ability to turn the corner with a low inside shoulder and closing speed make the 6-foot-3, 205-pounder one of the top edge prospects in the 2013 class. LSU and Texas A&M are out in front at this point, with many others giving chase.
Correct. Sounds like things changed when Giles put in a call today and smoothed things over. Hopefully Prevot will follow through with that visit to Austin.

From ESPN on Samples -
Dallas Skyline ESPNU Watch List wide receiver Ra'Shaad Samples said Monday that he suffered a small fracture in his left fibula during a one-on-one drill at Sunday’s Nike Football Training Camp at the Dallas Cowboys practice facility in Irving, Texas.
Samples, a 2013 Under Armour All-American, said doctors found a small break and a stretch of his tibia but found no ligament damage. He is expected to miss 3-4 months, but took consolation in the fact his ligaments were in good shape. Ligament damage could have put him out for an extended period and was speculated to jeopardize a portion of his senior year.
“I’m doing all right,” Samples said. “I left the doctor’s office with a cast on. I won’t have to get a plate or anything. I plan to start rehab in about four or five weeks.”
thanks, been lurking a while now, and i love how up to date y'all are, just wish it wouldn't have taken 2 weeks to approve my account lol

Per 24/7, DB Maurice Smith is scheduled to attend LSU's spring game on Saturday before he heads to Austin on Sunday. Sounds like Akina knows he may have to offer soon.
Wanted to mention some of the different jerseys these guys are wearing. Pic #4 with Hicks is a good example. You can tell those are the Nike Pro Combat cut. I wonder if these are the jerseys that Jesus said they'd be trying out through spring practice.
WR Quan Jones of Wylie East has committed to Baylor. Solid four-star get for them.

Do you think Smith will commit if an offer is extended?
Yes, I do. UT is the one he's waiting for.
