I agree Mex. It felt good switching Dalton, Daje, and Marcus late in the recruiting process. It was exciting for us, but I wouldnt want to be on the other side of the switch. Thats exactly what the Wilson situation has the potential to be.

24/7 updated their national rankings and ATH Kyle Hicks made a nice jump. He could very well be a Longhorn in the coming week.
Kyle Hicks – RB, Arlington (Texas) Martin
Move: From unranked to 145
Quote: "The safety turned running back is new to the rankings after a tremendous junior campaign and recent video evaluation to back it up. The 5-foot-10, 192-pounder has terrific feet in the hole, an elite jump cut, impressive balance, is run finisher in terms of forward lean and falling forward, and has impressive make you miss open field ability." - Gerry Hamilton

Raulerson taking his position very seriously...
http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/coll...st%3fid%3d1911
Make no mistake, Swoopes is Jake Raulerson’s No. 1 target for this 2013 recruiting class. Swoopes said he’s already received several Facebook messages from the Texas commit.
“I’m sure he’ll be down there this weekend trying to talk me into going,” Swoopes said.
**QB JT Barrett has been offered by LSU.
**OL Darius James has been offered by Florida State.
ESPN story / interview on Swoopes -
http://espn.go.com/blog/high-school/...tyrone-swoopes
ESPNHS: Which schools have offered you so far and do you have any favorites?
Swoopes: I've gotten offers from Notre Dame, Stanford, Oregon, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma, Auburn and Alabama. I think Baylor, Oklahoma and Texas are my three favorites right now because I went to their junior days and I enjoyed it. Those will be the only places I've really been so far. [Note: Swoopes will be attending a Texas junior day this weekend.]
Stefon Diggs to Maryland
I love the all white uniforms....my favorite in all of college sports.......still, that orange helmet would look awesome I bet.....especially with the orange unis.
GO SPURS GO
Never understood why people bag on Westerman. The OC and his position coach he committed to were fired in December after he committed. That's a legit reason to decommit.
Blake Munroe
Sources tell Inside Texas the Cameron Ridley 'standoff' is almost over & the end result bodes well for the Horns
Thank goodness. The AAU influence on college basketball recruiting disgusts me. Many, many, many national recruiting analysts care to ignore it. The articles after U of H picked up Danuel House and Chicken Knowles were hilarious.
I'm glad Ridley might be ready to tell the third parties to back off and he's going to Texas.

Yeah, im not bagging on Westerman. I disliked the situation. I cant ever be mad at a kid for making the best decision for himself. He was a polished beast at tackle and thats what we needed at the time so i was excited about him being a longhorn and then it all fell apart, with due warning first tho. I kept hope that he might stay but... it was like going from one extreme to the next between excitement and disappointment.
Nice development for UT. Claude Mathis has decided to return to DeSoto after a short stint with the University of Houston.
Mathis seems like a terrific guy. I'm sure DeSoto is happy to have him back.
Wow. Wonder what happened
From Hay-sues at IT
----------
QB, Tyrone Swoopes, Whitewright
Offer status: Lock.
Quick thoughts: Though Swoopes has been a known commodity for quite some time he's seen his national exposure take off recently with offers from Alabama and Ohio St. He's obviously the top target for the Longhorns at quarterback despite a stellar in-state class at the position and you know how Mack and Co. fare when they give the Cookies and Coffee sell.
Chances for JD1 verbal: 30% Never count out Mack, but a weekend commitment goes against what we've been hearing from Swoopes' coach Jack Wylie for quite some time now.
Long term percentages: 75%
RB, Dontre Wilson, DeSoto
Offer Status: Lock
Quick thoughts: Wilson is perhaps the most dynamic playmaker in the state. Knowing this he has keen awareness in how his abilities would suit Oregon, his presumed leader. He also likes Oklahoma.
Chances for JD1 verbal: 5% Wilson has the feel of a guy that's going to take his time while he sorts through his ever growing offer list.
Long term percentages: 55%
WR, Jake Oliver, Dallas Jesuit
Offer status: Lock
Quick thoughts: Oliver is the staff's number one target at his position and a consensus national 100 player. We hear Oliver has the Horns at the top of his list and that the staff is optimistic of their chances here.
Chances for JD1 verbal: 35% I'm having some weird feelings as I write this that 35% may be a bit low. If there was a surprise commitment over the weekend this could be it.
Long term percentages: 70%
WR, Ra'Shaad Samples, Dallas Skyline
Offer status: Lock
Quick thoughts: The son of Skyline Head Coach Reginald Samples, Ra'Shaad has quite the offer list. Look for UT to attempt to continue their success in the powerhouse program by letting Samples know just how much he's wanted.
Chances for JD1 verbal: 25% I get the feeling that with his impressive list of suitors, Samples may want to take some time.
Long term percentages: 70%
TE, Durham Smythe, Belton
Offer status: Lock
Quick thoughts: The player whose stock is on the verge of causing a bubble has essentially been told he's got an offer waiting as multiple schools try and get him to bat an eye their way.
Chances for JD1 verbal: 60% The Smythe's have a lot of trips currently planned but something tells me that Texas has a chance to cancel reservations this weekend. The only true threat we believe is Stanford.
Long term percentages: 85%
OL, Darius James, Killeen Harker Heights
Offer status: Lock
Quick thoughts: James is the best interior line prospect in the state and maybe the nation and would have many more offers if common sentiment wasn't that he's a UT lock.
Chances for JD1 verbal: 60% That may be a little low for somebody assumed to be a UT lock, but we've been told he wants to take a visit or two to perhaps OU or LSU. Don't fret, if he doesn't commit this weekend it won't be long after.
Long term percentages: 95%
OL, Kent Perkins, Richardson Lake Highlands
Offer status: Lock
Quick thoughts: Go back to our thoughts on James and substitute 'interior line' for 'tackle'.
Chances for JD1 verbal: 80% Out of all the guests, this one feels like it has the best chance going down.
Long term percentages: 95%
OL, Ishmael Wilson, Dallas Bishop Dunne
Offer status: Lock
Quick thoughts: I'm assuming Mack Brown has seen Wilson's film and isn't going to pull a Lester Miles and say through his chlorophyll stained teeth that he hasn't had a chance to see him in action yet.
Chances for JD1 verbal: 20% Though that coveted LSU offer didn't come to Wilson, he could still be holding out for it. If he's not the slightest bit perturbed that LSU didn't offer, that could tell you type of uphill battle Texas is in.
Long term percentages: 45%
OL/DL, Jake Raulerson, Celina
Orange House
OL/DL, A'Shawn Robinson, FW Arlington Heights
Offer status: Lock
Quick thoughts: With UT looking to be in great shape with most of their offensive line recruits, Robinson could get his first look at his preferred position of defensive tackle.
Chances for JD1 verbal: 5% Eric talked to A'Shawn last night and Robinson told him there was 0% chance of committing this weekend. 5% gratuity added to parties the size of Robinson.
Long term percentages: 65%
DT, Justin Manning, Dallas Kimball
Offer status: Lock
Quick thoughts: The brother of former Sooner Demarcus Granger, Manning isn't the OU lock one would assume. Despite rankings that are out, we feel he's the best defensive player in the state.
Chances for JD1 verbal: 10%
Long term percentages: 60%
DT, Vincent Taylor, San Antonio Madison
Offer status: Not likely
Quick thoughts: The staff obviously has interest in Taylor but chances are unlikely that he receives an offer this weekend.
Chances for JD1 verbal: 45% (if offered)
Long term percentages: 60% (if offered)
LB, Naashon Hughes, Killeen Harker Heights
Offer status: Lock
Quick thoughts: The brother of Camrhon Hughes predictably has a fantastic frame. At 6'5" and 215 lbs, Hughes could project at a number of positions.
Chances for JD1 verbal: 60% Eric talked to Naashon recently and Hughes said that both he and James wanted to take a visit or two.
Long term percentages: 100%
ATH, Kyle Hicks, Arlington Martin
Offer status: Not likely (unless it's as an athlete, rather than running back)
Quick thoughts: Could bringing in Hicks the same weekend as Dontre Wilson be a hint to Wilson that Texas has other options at his position?
Chances for JD1 verbal: 50%
Long term percentages: 75%
ATH, Ricky Seals-Jones, Sealy
Offer status: Lock
Quick thoughts: Normally Mack likes to bring in a high profile recruit the day before and extend an offer to get momentum rolling. We're not saying that RS-J is that guy, but a source of ours tells us it's likely that he and his parents will be in Austin Saturday evening (keep in mind the recruits we've talked to are going to Austin Sunday morning). It would be quite telling if he visited the night before.
Chances for JD1 verbal: 40%
Long term percentages: 85%
Interesting stuff, the different between him and Hamilton is Hamilton has Hicks as a lock offer. Time will tell...
DT Kerrick Huggins of Dallas Skyline has committed to Texas A&M. Solid DL haul for the Ags so far.

OL/DL Jake Raulerson will be attending the second Junior Day as well.
Raulerson not fucking around, put his ass on the payroll.
Woah now. This isn't Bama or Oregon.
Will the winter weather have an effect on kids getting to Austin tomarrow morning?
I attended a bunch of Dallas Jesuit JV games last fall because my nephew is a player for them.
FWIW, Two or three times Jake Oliver showed up at JV games with a group of friends and the friends all seemed to be wearing Burnt Orange and White.
As an Ag legacy, at the time, I kinda though it would be tough to overcome that. However, sounds like Oliver's dad (who runs a performance training center in Frisco) is allowing his kid to made the best decision for his own situation.
I saw several varsity games as well last fall when my nephew got promoted to varsity to play special teams late in the reg season and in their playoff game and Oliver is the real deal. His height, hands and speed combination allows him to overpower the HS kids he faces.
I would be great next fall to go see my nephew (he also is a WR in Jesuit's 4 wide set) play alongside a big time player like JO - especially if Oliver is a Texas commit. There is a really good chance that my nephew will be one of the top 4 wideouts next year with JO because that position was senior heavy last year outside of Oliver. My nephew was the most productive WR for JV last year as he had double digit TDs.
Shipley and Oliver together in Austin would be a nightmare for opposing defenses. Oliver's not a speed burner (4.5-4.6) but he is a really smooth athlete who can make big plays all over the field.

Excellent points all. I heard Oliver's "crew" or group of friends were Texas fans. I've seen Oliver live also, and I agree with your assessment.
Very cool that your nephew plays at Dallas Jesuit. They have some of the best fans I've ever seen. Skyline was taking them to woodshed, but everybody on the Jesuit side stayed and cheered the entire game. I came away impressed.
Texas has offered Darius James.
Ishmael Wilson has Canceled on attending Texas' JD1 today and has rescheduled to JD2.
Jake Oliver has been offered.
Kent Perkins didnt make it to the JD.
I expected Kent to be the catalyst for commitments today. We just lost our momentum.
