To be fair, about 9 of his points were in garbage time.

He also scored 20 in an efficient 22 minutes. I have no problem giving that tired old bag props when he deserves it.

Although, it remains to be seen if ginobili can pull off this magical feat again . Will he continue to improve or will he regress with more injuries and more sub-20 games because he's out of rhythm after coming back from said injuries?

Only time will tell, and I will bump this thread with ferocity and gusto if he puts up any more TOSB-esque sub-20 games...

Well then the entire game was garbage time since we were up 20 in the 1st.

By garbage time, I meant the fourth quarter, when the Nuggets knew that they couldn't overcome the deficit and gave up. Even Bonner scored 6 points in 'garbage time'.

To be fair our lack of "garbage time points" cost us the Knicks game

Fair to the person who started the thread. "Will Manu Ginobili ever score 20 points in a single game again" is a legitimate question, and Manu's 20 point performance in a blow out game isn't concrete evidence that he'll be able to do it in meaningful playing time.

If you're replying to the person who started the thread, a quick check of the post date is in order. I'm trying to think of a metaphor that has a horse really really far out of the barn, but I'm too geeked about the Baylor game.

Since I started this thread, Manu has scored at least 20 in 7 regular season games (including tonight) and 4 playoff games for a total of 11 times since February 23, 2012. He's played in a total of 37 games since February 23, 2012.

    Manu's proportion of 20+ point games since 2-23-12 = 11/37 = 29.73%

In the same time, Tony Parker has scored at least 20 in 12 regular season games and 7 playoff games for a total of 19 times since February 23, 2012. Tony's played in a total of 51 games since February 23, 2012.

    Tony's proportion of 20+ point games since 2-23-12 = 19/51 = 37.25%

Duncan has scored at least 20 in 10 regular season games and 4 playoff games since 2-12-12.

    Duncan's proportion of 20+ point games since 2-23-12 = 14/51 = 27.45%

IIRC, Gino actually has the biggest winning % among Spurs... yes, even higher than Timmy D... you won't hear that from the CoP, tbh

Of course you hide the fact that Parker played 9 minutes more per game....

Manu vs Clippers: 15 points (3-11 shooting) in 28 minutes.

Although really to be fair, Manu did make strides in getting to the free throw line this game, so I won't hold this game against him. Realistically I don't consider ever sub-20 game from Manu a "failure" as long as he's playing up to his potential.

He didn't play up to his potential tonight but he wasn't full out TOSB either despite scoring only 15.

By the way interesting stat, Manu is only 1 of 3 since '85 to be drafted 45th or lower to have played at least 600 career games. That's pretty good knowing how injury prone he is.
