Don't let anyone see you trying to root your phone, could get arrested.
Tablet PCs
Oh look, my phone plays Crisis without a hiccup, now let me get a bigger model so I don't have to open a lap top, they are so bersome.

Best company <> best product
Just because laptops are portable doesn't mean they're not bersome.
I'd only want a tablet to be able to take with me to my bed to read/surf the web. For that purpose alone I'm too cheap to pay more than $150 for one.
$50 more
Get the PB
It's really a beast
It's great man. I do that every night and wake up to check my email in the morning all while laying down. It loads everything quick and doesn't get hot. Lol as a matter in fact, I'm laying on my back right now typing this message.
how is a laptop clumbersome? compared to what?
I seriously considered this, went to Best Buy to play with the new OS. I'd like a 9-10" screen though, I could see myself having to zoom in more often on the PB.
I have the PB - well got it for my mom but I have to wait go to Algeria (in a few months) to hand it to her, so I'm playing with it - and the size is perfect IMO, especially for typing.
Sometimes, I do have to zoom in, but it's not that bad
The screen is great - 1080 p looks great, and those speakers ...ah those speakers are really nice
A tablet.
I've often thought of getting a tablet, but all of the things you just described I do with my phone. And then I sit at my computer desk and eat breakfast while reading the news on my desktop.
So, while I'd like to have a tablet, I can't justify the expense at the moment. If I come across some disposable income, I might get one (or maybe a 360 w/ Kinect bundle for the kids). But right now, between my phone and my desktop, I'm good.
Hmm interesting.
Like Nathan said I need a reason to justify the expense. I might have one now...just got my hefty tax return in the mail yesterday
Yeah you're absolutely right about that. That's exactly what I used to do before I got one. Only advantage now is that now my phone lasts a couple of days without charging and I got tired of reading do ents on my phone screen and zooming all the time. To each their own because there is honestly not much to justify it.
what's so clumbersome about it? Just because it's a few pounds heavier?
IMO ppl will have both laptops and tablets.
No a tablet cannot replace a laptop. But a tablet is useful in some scenarios.
I disagree with ppl that say one replaces the other
Forgot to do my taxes
True true
I have much less eye strain since I've been using the Playbook, vs my iPhone
After browsing on a smartphone for a long time, I look like a zombie
The bigger size of a tablet screen is much better for one's eyes
Also + 1 on the phone's battery
TLaptops are very bersome. I always have to sit upright with it, it slides off my lap sometimes, it gets hot and can hang the system by overheating, my legs falls asleep, gotta carry a heavy ass bag with it with all of the accessories along with another bag for other unrelated items, the stupid brick, it's pounds heavier, it's slow if you don't upgrade ram, no touchscreen because trackpad is annoying sometimes, ect.
All in all, my laptop is forgotten. I don't even know where it is.
A tablet can replace a laptop in some cases. Specially considering that a lot of people don't need the hardware of a laptop and prefers to have more mobility.
I need a keyboard. those touchscreens are not my thing
Don't you have the Transformer with the keyboard?
I think that's the reason he bought it.
Since I got my Photon I use it more than my Touchpad. I still use my Touchpad - especially for books. I can't replace my laptop with either because I need the power of the laptop + windows.
I really want to get an Ultrabook, though.
A Cray.
Just googled it. That is...NICE! NO! NO! I love my tablet dammit!
Posting this from a 'new iPad'... tbh, this Samsung screen looks great
