    right behind shaq in blocks
    top 15 in rebounds
and around top 20 in points

For his playoff rankings, Tim Duncan is 7th in points (3,990), 5th in rebounds (2,177), 4th in blocks (453). He has 130 double-doubles, and I'm not sure where he is on that list.

It would only be temporary. k. Love is going to blow away the compe ion eventually. Everybody else wil be vying for second place.

That's if he can sustain that level of production long enough.

i believe the main source of information for these double-double stats is the BBR archive:
    Edit: fixed link
    http://www.basketball-reference.com/...=&order_by=pts

however, they only record info starting from the 85-86 season.

i was able to find this list from elias sports bureau (as of march 8, 2011):
    1 Wilt Chamberlain 966
    2 Moses Malone 894
    3 Elvin Hayes 890
    4 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 882
    5 Karl Malone 811
    6 Bill Russell 780
    7 Hakeem Olajuwon 774
    8 Walt Bellamy 755
    9 Shaquille O'Neal 727
    10 Bob Pet 708
    11 Charles Barkley 705
    12 Tim Duncan 704

I tried the link and it didn't work, but I knew Wilt Chamberlain had to be the unofficial all-time double doubles leader.

if tim plays for 2 more seasons, he could possibly get as far as no. 6 on that list, surpassing russell. however, i doubt he passes malone, unless he plays more than 2 years - which is highly unlikely.

also, we should take into account that some of those DD - for the 60s and 70s players - were the result of their era. tim duncan would get a DD every game of his career if he had played in a league where PFs averaged 6'6 and Cs averaged 6'8.

If Tim Duncan were a swimmer in St. Croix in the '50s or '60s, would he even have played in the NBA in the '60s or '70s? Seems unlikely.

Depending on how far the Spurs make it in the playoffs, Tim Duncan actually has a chance to become the NBA's all-time leading postseason shot blocker. He only needs 24 more to do it.

With that in mind, I'm only going by the official records that the NBA keeps, just to keep it simple.

Right.....he could have easily had a 20-20 game if he played more minutes.

So, Wilt Chamberlain is the true all time double-doubles leader, but Karl Malone is recognized as the official leader since the NBA started keeping track of this statistic.....I figured Wilt would blow everybody away in this category if they kept track of this when he played.

I'm surprised how low "5-0" is on that list of double doubles.
I was thinking the same thing the other day.

I can see it, considering he played next to Tim Duncan for the last 6 years of his career.

The NBA not using the real double-double rankings is beyond stupid, they can easily look at points-rebounds and points-assits from the past. They'll miss a few with points-blocks or rebounds-blocks, but even then I'd be surprised as the likely players pretty much always scored in double figures anyway. It's not like the stats aren't there, and it would give a better picture of what's going on.

I'm glad at least on this list we have Wilt at the top and not Malone.
