Visiting San Antonio next month - need advice

hey guys, I'm coming to San Antonio next month (love that damn place) with my girl and staying in downtown by Mi Tierra.

last time I was there, I was trying to find a place downtown that sells beer but ended up driving in circles and eventually at some random gas station a few miles away lol.

so, can someone tell me where to buy beer downtown? (this is for the hotel room after eating at Mexican Manhattan and downing multiple margaritas of course)

head east on houston street, hang a left(north) on boardway, look for heb central market on left side of broadway. They have beer through gourmet stuff. Either drive back and drink at hotel or do as the locals. Slam 6 of them in the parking lot, drive back.

If you're coming in from Dallas go to the SPEC's on I-35. To get there take 35 and once you get to 1604, take the previous exit.

I was in Philly and you have to buy beer at a liquor store there, and they only sold it by the case. Otherwise it's the baaaaaa (bar). No beer in the convenience stores. How convenient is that?

It's not convenient. But I do like to drive through Louisiana where you can buy a pint of liquor at the convenience store.
