Too bad he came up short. There's still the next game. They can afford to say that.
Kobe: "I wouldn't say the energy kicked in in the fourth quarter. I almost bailed us out, is what happened." #Lakers #NBAplayoffs about 2 hours ago
Too bad he came up short. There's still the next game. They can afford to say that.
For once Kobe is 100% right and he played an absoultely phenominal and highly efficient game down the stretch even missing some close out shots - without him LAL not even close. The downside for LAL is if the rest of the team does not step up Denver could steal game 6 and make it a truly interesting series (although one has to think LAL would win a game 7 in Staples). The big risk for LAL is that the longer the series goes the risk of some freak injury occurs and LAL needs to be 100% to beat the Thunder. Still figure they will and we will get treated to a WCF with Spurs and LAL. Should be fun!
Kobe with the goods again. Not playing up to his standards for most of the game just so he could unselfishly involve his teammates, and then when things look bleak, put his hero cape on and will the Lakers to an almost win.
Just the greatest player to ever play the game.
Kobe was phenomenal for a couple of minutes there in the 4th, but a couple of those shots were just ridiculously open transition looks. Only a couple were Kobe hero mode and he only made about 2/6 of those...
It is not all on him but if he outshoots the bigs consistently in shot attempts down the road LAL might go out meekly.
It was a fun game to watch. And Kobe was in that zone, where i actually didn't think he would miss a shot.
Kool, Luva & Seppe would most definitely have had an orgasm.
My thoughts exactly.
All the lakers do at end is give it to Kobe and let him throw up a crap shot. Sure he makes it most times, but that's weak sauce. lol no team lakers
Feels good knowing Spurs actually run plays and have 10+ guys that can knock down an open game winning shot because of it es.
10+ guys who can hit a shot with a playoff game on the line? Total homerism. Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Jack, and Neal can and have, but everyone else is going to have to prove it to me before I believe it.
bag of bryant is reaching pathetic levels. and it's only round 1
Had he started 5 minutes prior this series would have been a wrap.
He went HAM with like 3 minutes to go. That made all the difference in Nuggest winning and Lakers losing.
It's a good thing he tanked in the end. The Lakers need World Peace for the Thunder.
I would have watched the game live but just like you can get a hold of some bad weed...I got a hold of some bad gaucamole and couldn't stop ting
Great statement for teams morale and cohesion. Go lakers!

Ironically you were born the same way.
Kobe's 3 straight bombs in the final stretch were indeed impressive, but to solely credit him for the comeback is disingenuous. Aside from a Kobe three, Bynum and Gasol did most of the work (on both ends) in cutting down Denver's 15 point to 7, which put the Lakers within striking distance at around the 3 minute mark.

3:16 94-85 Danilo Gallinari blocks Ramon Sessions's layup
3:12 94-87 Andrew Bynum makes 2-foot two point shot
He isn't being humble... but lets be real here. He did almost bail them out. Lets stop trying to make drama about this or what anyone says.
What's sad is his team needing to be bailed out from Andre Miller and gonzo McGee when you have Bynum and Gasol out there with you.
