I hate Bonner, as is known, but a hot Bonner is a valuable player to have against a team like the Lakers in a situation where the Spurs might need to pull Gasol out of the paint to open up the driving lanes. Obviously I wouldn't want him playing anymore than 10 minutes in that matchup, but it doesn't hurt having a stretch 4 to give a team with a huge frontline different looks once in awhile.

Last year's Spurs were fatally flawed. This year, you can debate that they are weaker (I am in no position to judge), but they plugged a lot of holes.

Spurs are a much stronger team than last year.
