Has he looked what on google?
That's YLOD. Theres no coming back from that.
I hope you had a backup save file for the games.
Buy yourself a Slim PS3. They're cheap and have twice as much space then the fat one.
Facinating, tell me MORE!
Oooh, you don't want to know
I will buy a slim model eventually but I would hate to throw this one out. I seen on Craigslist those small shops that fix them for $40 (reflow) maybe try that and stick it in a bedroom and the slim becomes the main one.
If you dont know who you're dealing with I wouldn't go through with it.
You can call Sony and have them fix it for you but they will charge you 150 which is a rip off.
buy an xbox
well that was your problem to begin withmy ps3
If it's an original launch it would be almost six years old, sounds like you got your moneys worth.
How is a red blinking light the yellow light of death?
As opposed to the 360 which only has a lifespan of like 5 months?
http://community.eu.playstation.com/.../td-p/12610136You can do this fan test.
Turn the mains switch off, hold the eject button.
While holding it, turn the mains on, when the power light is green, release it, it will beep
The fan will operate at the highest speed possible and will eject any disc that is inside.
After about 15 seconds the fan will stop spinning and the ps3 will beep 3 times and blink a red light.
When this happens, turn the mains off and on then turn it on normally.
Tell me how this goes!!
P.S. It will not harm your ps3.
I have 3 Xboxs already. if the xbox broke I would just take the kids xbox lol, see 1 piece of paper on the floor and be like, This rooms a mess you both grounded and I'm taking the xbox.
Same thing happened with my ps3, I just paid the warranty price to get it fixed, since I wanted to keep my fat PS3 for backwards compatibility.
