Imagine what a Durant championship would do for their marketability? You guys need to think outside of the box, the nba probably makes the bulk of its money off the big nationally televised playoff games because of the advertisements, how big the local market is only comes secondary and really isn't as important as nationwide marketability.
Hm, that's an argument for fixing the playoffs for the Lakers tbh.
So why did you post the regional numbers?
i'm busted
awww shit here we go
You're going balls deep into this.
I don't know about Iverson or Rodman, nor do I care.
All I know is that as a fan, I can't even think about this
because it makes me feel like a cretin for watching.
but on a serious note, check this out

and that's with boring San Antonio bringing the ratings down by at least half![]()
i hear ya man. the players are just as guilty.
BR lurking...WWE, partially scripted sports entertainment, yada yada yada
I'm not sure but I think this may have something to do with it.
"A Game 7 matchup of the Heat vs. Thunder in the NBA Finals would set NBA records for TV ratings, and I'd be front and center contributing to the statistics."

I don't think it's rigged but why should Joey be allowed to ever ref a spurs game. He hates them and hates the face of the franchise.
If you saw Pop and the Spurs players in game 6 vs OKC, it was obvious they knew. And from the moment Crawford was selected as one of the refs, the messege for the Spurs was clear.
thank you
u know its rigged, when the nba doesnt allow you to show any emotions to retaliate on stupid calls going against you, or calling out the refs in post game interviews only to be fine....
stern = jew = wannabe fkn commie
i think a better question is, do you really believe the refs are told to follow the rulebook exactly as its written and keep calling every foul they see?
that would slow the game down, make it less exciting and watchable, plus the superstars would suddenly seem less super. both of those things would hurt the league's marketing strategy.
as long as you're not crying about it and fully acknowledge that the spurs superstars got help in winning theirs as well
Makes sense why a player or coach gets fined the next day anytime they bring up the officiating, and if you don't believe its rigged look at New Orleans getting the #1 pick. Just a guarantee that Benson wanted for all that cash he was giving up, and Stern bent over and complied. How come they don't show the lottery balls being picked?!
The rigged NBA officiating is nothing new. Back in 1979, the Spurs were brutally raped by the officials in the ECF against Washington. Mike Gale, a former Spur great on that team, told me to a man, the players and coaches all knew the league "made a business decision" to have Washington win.
There was no way in hell, the NBA was going to allow a San Antonio vs Seattle Final.
And that was in an age when networks would show the games tape delayed later at night.
im trying to find that video where jeff van gundy stares and talks robotically into the camera and says the nba is not fixed , but i cant find it.
