I'm mystified why it only has one "p". Why "nipple" have two but "triple" got only one. Maybe some kind of oversight back in the day?
In fact, of the words that rhyme with "triple", all them got two "p"s. Except for a couple of oddball words.

And I'm not the only one wondering...
http://voices.yahoo.com/culinary-hoo...42.html?cat=22I went for a triple blue cheese burger. Seriously, why does "triple" only have one "p" but "nipple" have two? I blame the moles for that one.
I think the real question is why doesn't it have 3 p's? Think about it.
When the invaders came they brought our greatest fear. Not of them, but of us. They stripped away our hopes of what humanity could be, shined a light on the ugly reality of what we were. We saw that humanity would not stand as one. Those willing to fight would have to stand alone. But still we stood.
They came in wave after unrelenting wave, barely any attempt to avoid our fire. It was like no matter the death toll it was all just a game to them. Maybe victory was just a second thought to the little bastards. What they wanted was to see the moment when we broke, when we'd see that no matter how desperate our defense they had already won. But still we stood.
And now the invaders are gone. Seems as though they are forgotten already. What of us that fought and remain? Do we deserve the same fate as the foe we battled?
Never Forget

You're edging into Tlong territory on that one.

triple (v.)
late 14c., from M.L. triplare "to triple," from L. triplus "threefold, triple," from tri- "three" + -plus "-fold." The noun is recorded from early 15c.; the baseball sense is attested from 1880. The adj. is recorded from 1540s.
nipple
1530s, nyppell, alteration of neble, probably dim. of O.E. neb "bill, beak, snout" (see neb), hence, lit. "a small projection."

Well all that glitters is not gold. They have a bright future, but for now the golden gate is closed.
SEIS DE Maynu!
Well it looks like the Lake(rs) done dried themselves up, but at least they have a fishing boat over on the lower left corner to keep them busy in the offseason. Looks like it needs a little cleaning, but I am sure that there are enough brooms to take care of that task.
I am riding in the MS150 for San Antonio in October of this year. Part of it includes raising funds that get donated to help fund MS research. If you would like to donate my team please go click on this link and click the "Donate" button on the right of the screen. Thank you.
