Though speculation on Tuesday centered on Deron Williams, with Howard believed to want to join Williams in Brooklyn, the Rockets are more likely to try to land Hornets guard Eric Gordon, a restricted free agent with an offer the Hornets would not match according to an individual with knowledge of their thinking.

I would imagine Morey has had conversations with whichever team he is trying to deal with and has a realistic price tag he is striving for. Getting the 18th pick while we already have the 14th and 16th suggests Morey has a plan in place. I'm not sure if Dwight is gonna be a Rocket, but I don't doubt that Morey has a very attainable goal along with a few contingency plans.

FWIW, Ric Bucher just reported on SportsCenter that it's highly unlikely the Magic bite on the Rockets package for Howard. Plan B would be to go after Gasol.....
