I know its random but don't we have a protected 1st round pick from Charlotte for the year 2016? I remember we aquired something like that in a trade a few years back. Can anyone confirm this? Could be of some value during the rebuilding years seeing as Charlotte will probably never be good.

We have their 2nd round pick that year that and it is top 55 protected. If that pick is in the top 55, Spurs received nothing (not even at a later date).

This pick was acquired when Theo Ratliff was salary dumped. The only reason the Spurs received anything in return is because the CBA mandates that both teams give up something in a trade.

check either DraftExpress or NBADraft.net for the draft pick trades. You would be surprised at some of the protected picks and how they are resolved.
