Opens this weekend. Early reviews are good. Several critics are saying in a nice way that Del Toro basically owned the out of Michael Bay in his own genre.
    That doesn't say much, tbh

    ...true.

From what I've been reading it's everything that it's advertised to be and more. Aesthetically, it's what all those big budget destruction films have tried and failed to be.

Saw it last night...............very entertaining. The graphics were spot on. The monsters/robots scale was on point. Looked very real.

LOL Godzilla, Power Rangers, Transformers mix. You pretty much know what you're getting here without going, I'll pass. I'm sure it'll be on DVD, or some primetime network within a year.

Del Toro + that cast = I'd be in the theater right now if I could be.

Yeah, but you know it's the forever watered down end of the world scenario with some sort of plot twist. gets old for me at least.

True, I can understand.....but I knew that going in to watch the movie, and it was still quite entertaining. I think more so because the special effects and sound was so good.

So in general you appreciate these sorts of movies, that's cool. I think people in general find themselves watching these movies at one point or another. The effects do look good in the trailers, that's for certain. But I would never pay to see it unless someone wanted me to take them. I guess my real issue is with the lack of risk taking on a larger scale consistently from the industry in general, when it comes to larger productions that command a larger audience.

Just got out of the theater. Holy . It's big, loud, dumb, and ing awesome. I don't know how summer popcorn movies are going to keep topping the next with large scale wanton destruction.

saw it last night. two hours is too long for that movie. they should have kept all the fights of course, but cut out alot of that piss poor acting and dialogue bull . an hour and a half would have been better. it just dragged waiting for the next fight each time.
