I still think he could be a great low risk, high reward signing over the summer.
Spurs would have their own Toni Kukoc (Ingles) and Scottie Pippen (Kawhi).
I'd love to see the Spurs take a good look at Ingles if Bertans isn't ready yet (although I'd be more excited if Bertans was ready)

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/spo...-1226667053448New Orleans Pelicans are believed to have great interest in the 203cm swingman who is 25 and won an NBL championship with South Dragons in 2009 after being the Rookie of the Year in 2007.
Barca just got eliminated a couple of days ago, so more teams will likely start showing interest. Pretty safe to say that the Spurs have the inside line with a couple of his countrymen on the team. It just depends if they think he is worth a roster spot.
Emiliano Carchia @SportandoBasket 30m Joe Ingles announced on Twitter that he won't return to FC Barcelona next season
I like him a lot! Is he better than casspi??
Here is one of his last games with FC Barcelona where he put up 25 points
rewatching Australia vs USA
A couple of things:
So far Ingles has played the entire first half without looking tired.
Other than maybe 1-2 plays hasn't been beat by LeBron or Durant off the dribble, and held his own on a LeBron post up (LeBron missed). One of the plays LeBron beat him, he came right back and took him off the dribble and got a layup.
Definitely has potential as a stretch 4 if Bonner is gone next season.
Really under-appreciated to have a 6'8+ player with those type of handles.
Same goes for the 2nd half, played the entire game

Slow feet, very average shooter, not an nba player
Would be a decent choice for backup SF.

OFFICIAL: Barcelona part ways with Jasikevicius, CJ Wallace and Loukas Mavrokefalides, extend qualifying offer to Joe Ingles
Does this mean he has a buyout now or how do Restricted* free agents work overseas?
** got this answer through twitter:
Not than any other Spanish team makes an offer to Ingles, Barça has 7 days to match the proposal. Just in Spain

I disagree, like I mentioned above, he stayed with LeBron and Durant on the perimeter during their Olympic match while he played the entire game (40 min).
Still think he would be a great end of bench player you could develop, give him Neal/Baynes type contract. Not often you find 6'8 players that can play point forward like that.
he'd be a quality pickup for the spurs, he's a smart player who can contribute in a number of ways
He was Australia's best player throughout the Olympics, tbh.
^ you're thinking of Patty Mills.
Patty also played great, but he wasn't anywhere near as consistent as Ingles. He would score over 20 points one game, and then have 12 points the next. Ingles consistently scored ~16 points a game on a higher percentage than Patty.
You just know this is going to happen now.
we have a hole at SF and Ingles is probably the best outside of the NBA at guarding guys like Durrant and James at that position
and he is international.
and we are the world team.
I guess if we can't get AK we either sign Tmac or this guy?
Didn't exactly want him to play back up SF this year but options are running dry for the Spurs unless they take part in some trade.
you would have to say it also work in his favor that he has played a ton of ball with Baynes and Mills.
no ak. no aminu. aussie connection. i don't see why not sign ingles.
There has been a lot of news recently regarding foreign players, wouldn't be surprised if we hear something on Joe Ingles soon.
He is back in Australia right now, I would have thought a team looking at bringing him in would have slotted him into their summer league team
Unless something changes and the Spurs land AK (last SF really available I like besides Gelabale) might be time to contact Joe Ingles, wanted him as the 3rd SF to bring along slowly but even as back up SF, Spurs can still do that, since Kawhi plays a lot of minutes.
Yep, i am convinced, if they are going to slot a Euro into the last roster spot, with the funds we have available. Its this guy.
