Joe has shot this one down on Twitter. Know for a fact he would take a min deal in the NBA over more money in Euro right now.

Aussie Joe Ingles is closest to Maccabi TLV among free agents. Told runner up is ex-Knicks guard James White: one.co.il/Article/220213…

    David Pick @IAmDPick
Maccabi TLV, I'm told, has locked down Australian forward Joe Ingles. Contract specifics include a mutual escape clause.

    David Pick @IAmDPick
Team sources have texted me: "(Joe) Ingles is done". Waiting now for Aussie's official Maccabi mixtape.

Looks like a Baynes type situation is still possible later on in the season, depending on our roster and the SF situation.

Guys look good in their own element. DeColo looked like a player in Europe. The fact is, if you're borderline NBA athletic, you'd better be a hard nosed SOB. DeColo just melted. I don't know about this kid, but he'll get blown by and dunked on for at least a year leaning the NBA game.

Joey is very hard nosed, and a lot more athletic than DeColo

Ingles has decent foot speed, enough to stay with Durant/LeBron; watched him play Team USA and he rarely got beat by those 2 off the dribble.

The main issue with Ingles is that his team is doing well in Euroleague and could go far in the playoffs. So the further his team goes, less time for him to join Spurs.

Also when first reports of Baynes buyout/signing was 1/9/13, official press release came 1/23/2013; so even when Ingles' season ends, it would take some time if Spurs did buy him out.

David Pick: PaulGarciaPS @dudasun Correct. Joe Ingles wants playing time. MEM, ATL, UTA I'm hearing are more likely than SAS. Twitter @IAmDPick - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.y74DB2Nf.dpuf

I'm a fan of Maccabi. Ingles started the season ok, but as it progressed he showed he's no Euroleague-elite-level player - especially on offense. Let alone a mediocre NBA one.

If any of those teams draft him, it would be too much of a reach, considering he's projected as a 2nd rounder. He must've received a promise from late in the 1st round, considering he's practically disappeared from the planet.

I think you have Ingles mixed up with Inglis, dude. The former is an Aussie free-agent playing overseas. The latter is a French Guianese draft prospect playing in Europe. This thread is about the free agent, not the prospect.

Still think he would be good for SF depth, maybe bringing him in would convince Patty to stay.

he is a bit streaky in shooting the ball but his playmaking is underrated as he proved at the Olympics. In Europe he has had a limited role and hasn't had the ball in his hands much
