This is a gem.
Excellent find.
I need to get this in an oil and hang it in my TV room

The Aggies' response and Sexton parts are the best.

Steve Patterson: Texas's Charlie Strong will not be bringing show-cause DL coach Clint Hurtt. "It's hard to take new job w/ a show-cause."
Mike Finger @mikefinger
Patterson says "we're dealing with a significant budget" in terms of hiring assistant coaches.
FYI that Strong has chosen to remain in Austin and will not be working for ESPN during the national championship.
Darn, I wanted him to still be there. Seems like it would have been good to have his face on the main stage with a lot of kids watching.
Excerts from a Travis Haney insider article on ESPN pertaining to the Charlie Strong hire....
“[The Strong hire] isn’t scaring anyone in Texas,” one coach told me, referring to the state’s other programs. The same coach added that the prospect of the Longhorns hiring Baylor head coach Art Briles “terrified” those in the area. They felt Briles was the perfect football fit, even if he isn’t the most media-oriented coach in America. (Or if the thought of hiring Baylor’s coach was difficult to stomach for some UT die-hards.)
......
"I can't believe Texas did this," one of them said.
Someone is always going to disagree with the hire... it's not even news. The consensus seems to be that it was a quality hire.
Because if we'd hired Harbaugh, they'd have told Travis, "When I saw it on the ESPN ticker, I literally myself."
This experience has exposed the Texas haters in the media — Brett McMurphy, Pat Forde, etc.
Aggy ting themselves over this hire
Shouldn't Aggy be busy figuring out how to keep their recruits from flipping to Boise?
Strong is a damn good hire. he was the florida DC during their dominating years and has a more impressive resume than when mack came in.
recruiting wise, Texas' recruiting pull will now not be exclusive to the southwest. i can see mack still making visits because he's addicted to recruiting and taking on the grandfather role. if recruits need a break from strong whooping their ass, mack will always come in for a good ole fashion coddle.
i would have prefered briles or harbaugh, but strong might be exactly the type of anti-mack, hard nosed coach that the UT program needs right now. i can't wait for teams to legitimately fear coming into austin again. this news coupled with the new playoff format makes for the most exciting year since colt carried mack to the natty.
Looking at the state of the program, where it was deficient was:
1. No warriors, you hit this team in the mouth and they fold.
2. No disapline, in their playing or in their off the field behavior
3. No accountability for their play
4. No development of talent
Charlie Strong is going to fix all these things
I really hope the rumors aren't true about Major staying. IMO, both sides need a clean break, and I would love to see him get the out of his comfort zone and prove himself. The Zook angle that Chip floated sounded promising, but it's Chip Brown. that guy.
Also...
DE Solomon Thomas to visit UT and meet Strong before making a decision:

Today is the first Rose Bowl National Championship game played without the University of Texas in it since Miami vs Nebraska in Jan 2002.
Zook recruiting Texas would be a lot of fun to watch.
That is definitely NOT bad news.
“I will be going back to Texas to meet the new coaching staff,” Thomas told Scout.com. “I like Charlie Strong a lot. I think he is a great coach.”
24/7 reporting another staff memeber that will follow Strong to Texas is Louisville's Director of Football Operations, Clifford Snow.
He should not affect Suddes' position because it's a different department.
Another name 24/7 is mentioning for WRs coach is Joker Phillips.
Keep in mind Phillips is S Jamal Adams' godfather, a big reason why Adams loved Florida for so long.
List of assistant coaching canddiates that 24/7 published this morning:
Offensive Coordinator
Chad Morris (Clemson)
Tom Herman (Ohio State)
Josh Henson (Missouri)
Offensive Line
Joe Wickline (OK State)
Defensive Line
Bryant Young (Florida)
Buddy Wyatt (Kansas)
The Chad Morris thing would be incredible, but that guy is going to be a head coach soon. We'll see.
Lol, I just saw Chad Morris's buyout.
That ain't happening.
http://www.orangeandwhite.com/news/2...e/?partner=RSSHis buyout, however, is steep. According to the contract, if Morris leaves to accept a position as an assistant coach or coordinator from 2012-2014, he must pay Clemson a buyout equal to the sum of his annual total compensation multiplied by the years remaining on his contract. For example, if he left after next season, his buyout would be $6.5 million.
