A nice touch screen lappy.
- Galaxy Note III when it comes out
- Mac Pro (god damn please release the update already)
- A new pair of earphones because I broke my "straight from the box" earphones. Maybe that's a sign from the heavens.
A nice touch screen lappy.
With my Evo LTE totaled, my next cell phone upgrade is in ~Decemberish. I'm looking at the Galaxy IV perhaps.
I'd love to have a Vita at some point, but not sure if it's worth the cost sink considering I just bought a new PC.
Not exactly a gadget but I've been pining after a mechanical keyboard for a while.
My Swan M10 speakers (amazing btw) have been running strong for 5 years but I think the sub is not long for the world. Might hop over to the Audioengine A5s.
Down the road looking for a 3rd monitor and 2nd video card for my main rig.
My laptop is from 2009, but still going strong and I only use it for the basics. Still, if I find myself with extra funds, I may pull the trigger on an ASUS Zenbook Touch.
That's all I can think of, tbh.
I should be content with learning to touch true/respoke wheels for my road bike until the new iPhone comes out since I just bought an SSD for my comp.
that phone google is working on with motorola
Finally got my Nexus 10, now I'm starting to buy the components for my new PC (Got a 250G SSD today)
Looking to upgrade my Dish VIP622 to a Hooper with sling + Joey... need to save some bucks first
-Upgrade desktop or laptop
-External hardrive
I am so thinking of replacing my WUXGA monitor with a WQXGA monitor. Maybe a QHD monitor as they are about half the price of a WQXGA.
What you going for? I'm about to post my new rig in a thread.
I've been thinking of a SSD, but I'm not sure. How much faster is it than a good Barracuda?
I'm just buying a little bit at a time. Probably a 4G Vcard(NVidia.) Six-core I7 (May even go extreme if the price drops a bit.) 12G Ram.
Gonna be a beast. Been 5 years since my last build and I've mainly been gaming on my laptop since the ole' DT is showing its age.
why don't you buy a nexus 10, then the splashtop app and use the nex10 as your monitor.
Don't know yet since this is my first and it hasn't been installed. Everybody says they're amazing, faster boot times, etc.
LOL...
I have no use for a tablet. Why would I want less resolution?
Yes, but they can also lose their mind... The memory degrades over time. Not a big problem, you just have to rewrite stale files every now and then. They probably come with a utility to do that automatically.
My bad. The Nexus is WQXGA, but at 299 DPI.
Really now... My current 24" WUXGA is 135 DPI if I recall correctly.
Schiit Lyr + Bitfrost AMP and DAC combo.
Do you have SATA3 on your motherboard?
If you do, transfer speed is about 4x better for read, 2x better for write.
Fastest Barracudas do about 150 MB/s read/write, 8.5 ms seek time. Top SSDs do 550 MB/s read, 300 MB/s write, 0.1 usec 'seek' time (there really is no seek time on SSDs, it's just the random access delay).
Under SATA2 the difference is smaller because you're capped by the bus bandwidth. An SSD under SATA2 normally does about 220 MB/s read, 260 MB/s write. Still faster than the faster Barracuda, but not by that much.
It's probably a SATA II. I would have to look, I don't remember.
It's an older system. I have contemplated buying a new one. The specs say Serial ATA-150. Came with 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM, Intel Pentium E6300 2.8 GHz. It does all I need, but I'm impatient, and shaving a second or two off of applications would be nice.
That's SATA1... even a fast barracuda will be capped due to the bandwidth...
I don't even know how accurate the above specs are. I pulled them off the net. The same model computer, but wasn't all the same as mine. This is in my computer management. You probably know these controllers. I don't without looking them up.
LOL...
Figures.
It still boots very fast!
