If we can get a quality free agent big man (West, Millsap, Jefferson, Gasol (amnesty), Boozer (amnesty)) then we should prioritize them and offer Jackson the room exception at $5m/2yr. If not, give him something closer to $8m/2yr and he can retire with Duncan and Manu.

Eligible for a no-trade clause if I understand the rules correctly. I wonder if he'd be able to get it from the Spurs.

2 yrs $5m is good with me but dont think Spurs have to give big $ at a FA not on the team when they can do it thru the draft for not alot of $.

Jack has been bad this season. I still believe he will raise his level for the playoffs but if he doesn't, Spurs should go in another direction for the backup SF slot.

Yeah. I'd prefer Gelebale or Wes Johnson.

Websites don't agree but the most reliable ones have Gelabale under contract with Minny for next season.

I was watching the Minnesota feed of last game, and they said that the Wolves would "find some way" to bring Gelabale back. With Budinger and Kirilenko ahead of him on next season's depth chart, I don't know why he'd have signed on with them without testing the market first.

Jack has had a bad year but we are just using him for the playoffs. If he delivers for us, I would like to see him brought back at a cheap, reasonable price. If not, might as well just let him go. The vet min would work. Hopefully he doesn't demand a contract over his worth.

I'm kind of looking at him as a Bonner replacement, a stretch 4.

5mln/2yrs with no-trade clause could do it. Or throw him 3rd year partially guaranteed

I would not pay him more than the vet min. He won't get more than that from any other team. The question to ask about bringing him back is: can the Spurs do better out of that roster spot, for the vet min? A younger, more athletic guy, might be a good trade-off; we have lots of veteran leadership in Tim, Tony, and likely Manu...

Think it's time to part ways. Really like SJax but dont want to commit to him longer term. May have a change of heart if he hits a big shot in the playoffs.

People think he is Robert Horry II.......same people thought the world was going to end. Love his heart but his body is not up to the task and we can do better by draft or signing someone else.

Would the Spurs trade for a pick? With the new tax, his contract is worth a lot of money (duh!)

    Shams Charania @ShamsCharania
Stephen Jackson has hired Herb Rudoy of Interperformances as his new agent. Jackson is free agent after tumultuous split w/ Spurs in April.

Look, a lot of teams could use his help to tank effectively.

Yeah, but the desired bad play is offset by his cancerous locker room presence. You don't want him ruining the young players you already have.

I don't see anybody taking the risk of signing him, especially since his offense has dropped off.
