i tried running 4.2 on the hp touchpad. it was not happy. had to revert back to 4.1 due to lag and wifi issues
App and user data, yes. But AFAIK, the apps themselves are not backed up. That was the main pain in the ass for me before.

Ok..it's that time. Anybody have a good recommendation for a JTAG service?
I was curious, and this dude is near you:

Thanks. I'll send him a PM.
While I'm waiting, I dug out my old HTC Inspire, rooted it and threw an Experia port of a JB 4.2 Rom. That little phone has never been this smooth.
Yeah they have also ported the Xperia rom on the One S.
You should try Viper Rom on your Inspire
Its the Beast
Rooted. What now?
Unroot and reroot
Jk what phone do you own ?
Well look if there is any good custom roms for you (XDA forums)
So .....
Writing his thesis in Ottawa, tbh. Hard to get a hold of him.
Lol he must have bricked his phone
any luck?

What is the easiest way to unroot my S4? I used motochopper. Any way to not lose all my texts and too when I unroot? Help!
The only app that allows for backup / restore without root is helium . Since you will want to restore after uprooting, it seems like the way to go
Particular reason for unrooting? I had to do it a few weeks ago cuz I had to return my phone to Samsung. If you're doing the same thing, there's a few things you'll need to do on top of unrooting if you want to retain your warranty.
Unroot?
You may as well get your manhood revoked
In fairness, if the new Android Device Manager service does work as intended, the biggest remaining reason left to root is custom ROMs.
do elaborate, I unrooted my note II for warranty reasons, hope I didn't miss anything
I'm not sure if the Note II has the same thing but for my S4 if you go to Settings/About (or go into download mode), your status will say 'Custom' as opposed to 'Official' if you haven't wiped the flash counter, installed stock ROM + recovery and removed all traces of the root.
Maybe you already did all this, so as long as the status shows official, you're good.
