That seriously looks like a "bomb" you would see on NCIS or a movie. I totally understand why the school was alarmed by that.would TSA let you through screening with this?
Here's what's not getting enough attention, from either side...
- The case for the clock is a pencil case. It's not briefcase-sized.
- The teachers and police were accusing him of making something that "looked like" a bomb. They didn't actually believe it was a bomb. But they treated the situation as they would with any student creating something that looks like a weapon. This is why the zero tolerance policy is bull . So anyone saying "It looks like a bomb, they were playing it safe" OR "How could they think it was a bomb?" is missing the point.

Waited in the same room with him and his "bomb" while the police were en route.
Put the "bomb" in the same police car that took him to jail.

But they didn't evacuate the school, like you do when there's a bomb.
They didn't call a bomb squad - like you do when there's a bomb.
They didn't get as far away from him as possible, like you do when there's a bomb.
Then they put him and the clock in an office: not like you do when there's a bomb
Then they waited with him for the police to arrive, and then they put the clock in the same car as the police.
Then they took pictures of it.
I said: Damn.....They never thought he had a bomb.

The Irving PD, & the School Admin will be rightfully sued.
They can now pay Ahmed's way to MIT.

whether Ahmed made the clock or not is inconsequential. it was never a threat to anyone.
