The first 1.5 seasons of Chapelle Show were borderline genius for a 1-dimension show with 95% of the premises based on black culture/racism, but they made it work. Then Rick James happened...and Americans being American's, they killed it, but the show was running on fumes by the end of the second season. Watching how unfunny and unmotivated the "Lost Episodes" were, I'm glad it ended, those episodes were e.
His stand up is still great. It's not Killing them Softly great, but a whole lot better than the garbage people call great today, like a lot of Louis CK's and simple, mean roast comedy. Roast comedy has jumped the shark hardcore, btw. Jeff Ross will NEVER be the same- he's a roast comic now and his just isn't that great, he's even subpar to Joe Rogan...
As far as Chapelle, for being "booted" from the plantation, he's doing just fine. Glad he didn't want to dress up like a chick and be emasculinized for "entertainment".
