$48 million/2 years done and dusted son. Paying a washed up Kobe more than a prime Lebron. Kobe should thank his lucky stars that Jerry is not negotiating his deal.
I can guarantee you I won't ride this out. I've carried you s long enough during our down years to be insulted be a contract like that. This is Thanksgiving, not April's Fools.
Ok missed the above update. Wow. Again ANYONE making more than Lebron is asinine, even Last year's version of Kobe.
My guess his agent knew how much Lakers make off Kobe, and took dem to the woodshed. And this is their version of a hometown discount even though Kobe could only get that kind of scratch from bottom feeders.
Oh, well. We are not legit contenders. If we can sign one more star and Pau at a reduced rate we will be interesting and I can watch Kobe 2 more seasons before he retires.
just remembered LkrFan saying Kirby would take like $10-$12mil per year cuz he wanted to win a ring.
hasn't even seen how he looks on the court yet throwing away the next few years' salary cap. I love Fredo
Gawd bless Fredo. He's the herpes of the Lakers, gift that keeps on giving.
LkrFan, get in here and spin this .
I don't see how any Laker fan can defend this jackass of a move. Kobe fans are loving this move. Whooo hooo... GO KOBE!!!
kobe just raped the lakers...i laughed at laker fans hoping he would take 10-12 million. As if Kobe has EVER cared about anything besides his own self interest.
Bruno - Did this contract by Kobe (let's just call it 25M per year) represent a paycut based on what he could have received or is this essentially the max he could make under the new CBA? He was making 30M this season so 25M is a pay cut technically..
Fredo
Dat contract
Manu looks underpaid by comparison
Not even Kirbystan can argue against Kirby's selfishness and greed
was hoping for $15 not $24 ...oh, well.
But People (laker fans) saying he should take 10-12 are the same ones thinking we will sign Lebron. Not realistic ...
He could have made 65 mil. Still though, taking a 7 million dollar paycut and still the highest paid
Being reported as $48.5 million. Stupid by both sides. At the very least, they should have considered getting around or under $20 million per and have some kind of deferred payments after the two years. I'm not sure if the current CBA still allows that though. In reality though, he should have cut his $30 million in half and play for $15 million per. Super selfish egomaniacal Kobe and super dumb forbrains Lakers front office.
contract is excessive, no doubt. But how many guys in his negotiating position are gonna take a HUGE paycut?
