This is the caliber of player we would have reached out to, but it's very interesting that this happened the other way around. We are very receptive.
He previously started, then got hurt, replacement was very good. You know who he is by now. I think this is Hig's surprise. Maybe.

So Hig has a different surprise. Ok.
I pity him if it doesn't come to fruition.
Same guy had Wheeler to Texas info night before it went down.
Aggy
Braxton to Texas
Aggy back to irrelevance
The ending of this class already appears to be musical chairs, I cannot imagine what it'd be like with someone like Miller jumping on board.
If everything plays out perfectly for UT, I think we will over sign and work out the numbers later. Got way too many players riding that free education and not really helping the team.
Some not getting in can be helpful for recruiting next year. We can then legitimately say that we have talent wanting to get on board so they need to commit. We just don't want to go back to the days where the commit doesn't mean anything.
You worry about next year, next year. If you have legit players wanting in right NOW, you have to take them. There are ways, Tenn took like 32 last year and they are at 28 right now and from what I read, they are hoping to get atleast 3 more..lol
IMO, commitment goes both ways. The player also has to pull their own weight and contribute to the team. You cant just get a spot and then just sit on your thumb for 4 years for a free education. A person cant do that in the NFL or any real job. Don't produce, get out of the way for someone who will.

OrangeBloods reporting WR Carlos Strickland of Dallas Skyline has de-committed from Texas Tech.
He will announce his final decision on January 27th.
Welcome Carlos.
Losing Stidham and Strickland sucks ass to be sure, but all in all, Tech's class has still held pretty firm. They got some huge commits on the line which is much much more needed than QB/WRs.
Maybe, but it's UCLA, imo.
24/7 followed up this morning saying UCLA is the favorite right now mainly because he's enamored with the West Coast.
But Texas should get a visit and Wheeler is recruiting him.
UCLA having a commitment from a 5 star QB I'm sure sounds good for a guy like Strickland.
I wouldn't be surprised if his teammate, Anthony Wheeler, is trying to recruit him to Texas though. That should be a plus on our side. But who knows?
i wonder why baking a cake didn't work for Kliff.
Recruiting is a pretty shameless sport.
Look at Kliff's wikipedia profile pic and try not to laugh.
