Good thought. Rumors before the state championship game suggested the Texas smoke was real, but I imagine acquiring Norvell helps since Murray was showing interest in OU. I don't know if Norvell was on campus today, though.

Not sure what to make of this Murray news. Doubt anything will come of it but it does say alot what Kevin Murray thinks of sumlin to drive him there himself.

Update on DT Du'Vonta Lampkin from Inside Texas...we all know he's been rumored as a soft commitment for months now, but apparently the hiring of Jay Norvell gave UT more insight on what's been going on behind the scenes. Story goes that when Lampkin received a UCLA offer at the end of last year, Strong told him he would not consider him a part of this class if he took a visit. That rubbed Lampkin the wrong way and he's been planning a National Signing Day flip to Oklahoma ever since. All of the OU staff knew about it (including Norvell) and OrangeBloods received a detailed email on the situation last week. He's still scheduled to be in Austin this weekend, however.
Is the unbolded above really how Strong wants to handle recruiting?
I thought kids needed to get all info possible to make the proper choice for themselves?

I may not be addressing your question properly, but I believe Strong encourages uncommitted guys to visit.
Verbal commitments are a different story. Not only has Lampkin been committed for months, but he's at a much-needed position.
Hearing that Daylon Mack has cancelled his visit to Auburn on the 30th.
If Texas somehow lands Murray and Lodge, surely Mack would stop playing.
But, then again, I've told myself to never assume anything when it comes to Mack and Boyd.
