Update on DT Kingsley KeKe of Richmond George Ranch (24/7):

“It’s Texas and then Texas A&M,” he said when asked who his favorites were. “I’m not 100-percent sure on a full list of favorites, but Texas and Texas A&M are my two favorites.”

“They’re definitely recruiting me hard,” KeKe said. “Coach (Chris) Rumph has told me that they need me in their class. Coach (Charlie) Strong told me to get on board with them and help turn Texas around.”

“I’m going to try and be there for the spring game,”
said KeKe. “I definitely would like to be there.”

Recent quotes from WR John Burt of Tallahassee, FL (24/7):

“Texas is there as my top school,” Burt told Horns247. “I’m kind of open to everyone right now. I guess you could say I’m considering most of all the schools who have offered me, but Texas would be the No. 1 choice at this time.”

“I talk to Coach (Charlie) Strong and Coach (Chris) Vaughn the most,” said Burt. “We talk regularly. I like those guys a lot. They’re good coaches on the field and good people off the field. They’re a big reason I’m considering Texas."

“We actually spoke a couple of days ago,” he added. “It was a good conversation. It went well.”

“I don’t have any visits lined up at this time,” said Burt. “I’d like to visit Texas again soon. I might actually visit them this summer. I don’t know.”

I believe Wittek wants to decide before the semester is up, so probably in May. The timetable for Ash to return is 6-8 weeks, so he'll be back well before fall camp. Fortunately, he's really only going to miss a week of spring camp and the spring game; he'll be rusty (again) early in the fall, but he should be healthy.

a.) I can't help but wonder if this is a sign that Ash needs to give up football.

b.) I had already prepared myself for Ash to get injured at some point in the season, just surprised it came this early.

I believe this guy has been mentioned earlier, but Iowa commit QB Jake Beneventi told 24/7 that he will camp at Texas from June 8th to June 10th. I believe that is the QB camp weekend.
