You're right. Which explains why Texas is in a good position to finish strong even coming off of a 6-7 season. But still, I expected Baylor to get a little bit bigger boost despite their bowl game loss.
Yeah, the majority of these kids will still always want to go to the biggest brightest spot lights with the biggest crowds, biggest history, and best eating establishments.

Yeah, seems like it should be that way but if you look at the past ten+ years of recruiting, it's usually always the same programs in the same spots plus/minus 7-8 spots, year in year out.
I'm sure Baylor doesn't make their evaluations based on stars. There's plenty of quality players that are overlooked by the star system. Ratley was 'only' a two star when he committed to UTSA, left for Tech, and eventually ended up at A&M.
Dude was our highest rated commit.
If he had qualified, he had that offer from Auburn sitting out there.
According to Inside Runner Sports, former Texas Longhorn commit Keivon Ramsey reached out to UTSA this week. Ramsey is a three star safety from Judson.
True, being a huge grade risk was the only reason he was committed to us.
Ramsey would be a nice get. Along with Jupe and Godfrey that'd be a nice group of quality, home grown safeties tbh.
What's the story with Ramsey anyway? Was his UT offer taken away and why aren't the other P5 team who had offered jumping on him?
Not sure about this one, honestly. But the pickings must've been slim after the Hunt decommitment.
Hope he surprises me tbh.
21. DE Dequarius Henry - 6-4, 220 lbs
Sharpstown HS (Houston, Tx)
Offers: UTSA

Also ran across some in-home visits on the Twitters...
RB Jess Anders
DE Baylen Baker
QB Manny Harris
RB Brett Winnegan
CB JaColbie Butler
Should be a starter as soon as he steps on campus tbh.
OT Gabe Casillas - 6-5, 275 lbs
L.A. Southwestern College (Los Angeles, CA)
Offers: UTSA, Georgia State, South Alabama

My understanding is that Ramsey decomitted and then had no other real offers.
Former SMU WR that should be another immediate contributor.
WR Jabryce Taylor - 6-1, 185 lbs
Navarro J.C. (Lufkin, Tx)
Offers: UTSA

Hmm crazy since you don't usually decommit from a school like UT without a back-up plan. Hope Coker gives him a shot.
Also per InsideUTSA, OLB Diamon Cannon has decommitted fo Tulsa. Apparently most of his buddies are going there.
I've read Ramsey has maturity and at ude issues. He has not been enrolled in Judson HS for months now and is said to be attending a private academy somewhere around San Antonio. His UT commitment was not honored or dropped due to some undisclosed issues. I know this because him and Jaylon Lane (forced to decommit from OSU due to criminal charges) both reached out to Texas State recently. The coaching staff doesn't look to be interested.
