2015 commit RB Corey Dauphine wins state 5A 200 meter dash. Another site said on google preview that he ran fastest time in nation.
That was a wind aided time and the fastest time in the nation right now is a 20.53 by Kendal Williams.

To put things in perspective the HS 200m record is an amazing 20.13 by Texan Roy Martin. That record was set way back in the mid 80's. He'd go on to star at SMU and make the 88 Olympic team.

But...anytime a HSer especially a footballer (who can't give all his energies to track) runs anything around21.0 windy or not he has some serious jets. Sammy Watkins was a 20.6 guy.

TT is not known for having sprinters or speedy footballers. There has never been a great sprinter or speedy footballer come out of TT. Welker is quick not fast.

    Maybe things are changing.

Q&A with recent signee CB Nigel Bethel II
Those are not great times especially for Florida. Keep in mind Jeff Demps ran a...10.01...as a HSer, that is far far superior to a weak 10.73. Not saying there wasn't a headwind which would explain those kinds of times.

Fastest HSers in the nation right now.

    100 METERS
10.27 Terry Jernigan (East Ridge, Clermont, Fl)
10.28 Kendal Williams (Stanton, Jacksonville, Fl)
10.31 Andre Ewers (Piper, Sunrise, Fl)
10.35 Jaalen Jones (Thompson, Alabaster, Al)
10.36 Curtis Godin (Mater Dei, Santa Ana, Ca)
10.38 Christian Coleman (Mercy, Fayetteville, Ga)
10.39 *Darrion Flowers (Houston, Arlington, Tx)
    10.39 Trentavis Friday (Cherryville, NC)
10.39 Malcolm White (Taylor, Houston, Tx)
10.42 *Paul Lucas (Mountain Pointe, Phoenix, Az)

You can se how a 10.73 really doesn't stack up.

    yup.

And Tech is already pleading to the NCAA to let him play this year because of his dad's medical condition.

It both sucks and is awesome at the same time that this guy is probably the highest starred recruit that Tech has ever had.

And I might provide enough semen cloud for the entire city of Lubbock if younger bro McKinley follows suit in 2016.

I think Mike's little brother is still committed to Ohio State for basketball. I wonder if that would have any effect on the NCAAs decision since one son transferred back and the other is still committed to that same university.

Heard he was pissed about the RS last year with how bad the LB play was.

If his dad was that sick I don't think Mike's younger would be going 900 miles away.

Yeah, it seems pretty obvious he's just pissed about playing time. It's also not clear what his dad's illness is.

Either way, he'll still have four years of eligibility

    Lol must have.

Kliff is getting the run, but honestly Eric Morris is doing a damn good job in the recruiting trenches.

It helps that basically every Red Raider coach from KK on played at Tech and are young enough to relate to the players. The enthusiasm during the sales pitch is genuine.

Fox sports Q&A with Mike Mitc :

.............. Former Ohio State linebacker Mike Mitc , a*five-star recruit*in 2012, announced*he was transferring to Texas Tech.In an exclusive interview with FOX Sports, Mitc spoke publicly for the first time about his decision to transfer, what he learned at Ohio State and why he’s excited to become a Red Raider.

"So you’re officially a Red Raider. I guess the obvious first question is: How does it feel?"

"Oh, it feels amazing. It’s kind of like when I committed out of high school, only there’s the added perk of being so close to home. And of course getting back closer to my family.Even still, from the minute I walked on campus, Tech just felt like home".........

    ....more

    Recap of Mahomes:

Patrick Mahomes of Whitehouse on Friday was named the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors football player of the year.

The son of Pat Mahomes, who played for six Major League Baseball teams in an 11-year career, was chosen by a panel of journalists who cover high school football in Texas after throwing for 3,587 yards with 41 touchdowns and four interceptions in the regular season.

Visiting Tyler last week, Texas Tech head football coach Kliff Kingsbury said Mahomes had great potential. "He's tremendous," said Kingsbury.* "Very raw, a lot has to do with playing so many sports. He's never focused just on his technique and fundamentals. His upside is very high. He's a tremendous compe or. I can't wait to get around him and start to coach him up."

Never would I ever imagined ever ever Nebraska ever being concerned that Tech would steal away a running back from them.

....An offer from a team like Texas Tech that offers Bussey playing time in a system he could flourish in may send Husker fans into a panic....
