as long as the raiders get Carr
Clearly the winners of the draft so far. Things are looking bright in the Forest City tbh.
btw did anybody else have no ing idea that Clevelands nickname is the 'Forest City' ?
I bet they go 12-4 next season. Then 6-10 the year after. JFF is great but he doesn't have the size to last in the NFL, he'll be injured almost as much as Gronk.
he's actually in a good spot to succeed. they have a great left tackle, a legit #1 wide receiver, and one of the better pass catching tight ends around. they do need a better run game, but i think cleveland is one of the better spots Manziel could have landed in, as opposed to somewhere like Jacksonville, Oakland, or Minnesota
Decent defense too iirc despite losing some pieces. Will be interesting to see young shannys offense around manziel. Will he bring the Houston offense or the pistol offense?
will be interesting to read this thread throughout the season imo
Johnny Football is going to excel. All the haters are going to eat crow for all the talking.
yeah their defense is still pretty solid, and they added another corner to complement Hayden. Manziel is playing in a spot where Brian Hoyer was having success last year ffs. The only thing they're really lacking is a running game, but running games tend to have an easier time when you have a mobile quarterback, since they defense needs to be much more disciplined and less aggressive in their pursuit. They should probably draft a guard next round, and a running back in round 3/4
They did a good job replacing Jackson & Ward with Dansby & Whitner
this is seriously going to be vince young all over again . he'll make some amazing exciting plays, win some games, and when he loses, they'll have every excuse possible besides blaming johnny
Hope he succeeds tbh...the NFL is better when there's a surplus of good QB's. He's a playmaker and not a game manager, so anything he can bring to the table will be good for the league.
Agreed. I don't think he has the size to succeed but I'll be rooting for him.
The last time anyone called Cleveland "the Forest City" was about 1895, tbh.
We have such knowledgeable, witty fans.
congrats to cleveland. jff is going to surprise a lot of people this season.
Lol where is this from?
It was briefly on the Browns' official twitter account, a few minutes
To be fair, most people in Cleveland probably don't even know about that nickname. It's long been superceded by "Mistake by the Lake," "Rust Belt hole," etc.
Browns have a chance to be a pretty compe ive team this year, IMO. They have talent on both sides of the ball.
One of my favorite guys to watch in college football. Hope he does well in Cleveland. I'll have to get me a Browns' jersey now.
