I love this guy and look forward to him succeeding for many years in SA.
Kawhi doesn't thrive off the system, he makes the system. Just look at how ty Spurs played without him.
Well deserved, he's been my favorite player since he was a rook. You guys better get use to the name Sugar K.
I love this guy and look forward to him succeeding for many years in SA.
KD hurting bad because Kawhi got a ring before him? HE MAD
he joins the iceman, drob, timmy, tony and manu as a spurs legend!
KD mad because Kawhi is making that push for second best sf in the league tbh imho
My favourite play from Kawhi tonight - on the fast break, he could have done a euro-step to the hoop but he dished it to last second to the left wing Manu for 3. Kawhi has become such an intelligent basketball player.
An athletic beast like him could easily look around and say 'wtf you guys talking about big 3? all I see is a bunch of old guys. I'm the man' and instead he took whatever role was asked of him. Even in games scoring 20+ he took only 10 shots and made the most of them.
That is extremely impressive for a 22 year old. Considering guys like LeBron doing camera shows at age 22 or guys holding up circles around their eyes after 3's made or Caron Butler a 35 year old calling telephones, this dude does none of that.
After winning the Finals MVP, Kawhi goes into a group hug with all of his teammates and away from the cameras. Contrast that to LeBron last year even though it was clear he had gotten a little bit lucky to win the le doing the arms out smirk around his face 'look at me.. yeaaaahhhh i'm the dawg man'.
This boy is special. People are going to want to play with him throughout his career here in San Antonio. He's not going to have to leave and chase and stat pad or go after awards.
Thanks Kawhi. You deserved Finals MVP. We should all be so happy we have him.
What a very un-spur like comment. What happens when a guy becomes the entire system? A Paul George happens.
Kawhi plays both ends of the court unlike KD.
Perhaps I said it wrong. What I meant is, Kawhi makes the system work. When he's out, it's extremely difficult to make-up for his combination of scoring, defense, contests, and rebounding. The Spurs look like the 2010 squad when that happens.
The Spurs have a system, and it's beautiful, but Kawhi's emergence is what makes it championship-worthy.
That's ing awesome. Such a great privilege to witness this kid's ascension to greatness. Just awesome.
Wow...if that's for real, I just lost a lot of respect for KD. That's ing low rent, dude.
The spurs defenitely needed one of the medium 3 to step out of the shadows a bit in order to win the series and that he did. But he needed the system and the other 5 guys who were damn near mvp's themselves too. Imho.
Yea, I used to like KD a lot but that's some bull right there. Can OKC actually be that much more hate worthy? Good lord.
Anyone know what the votes were for finals MVP?
If you haven't seen this yet, you should. This will make you very proud of Kawhi.
Congratulations to Kawhi!!! You deserved it, and I am glad you did what you did to deserve it because it literally made the Spurs win this le, imo.
My favorite part of you winning was watching all of your teammates hold "the hand" as your name was being announced as MVP. That is huge - knowing that your teammates are happy for you - enjoy yourself!!
It's absolutely amazing how good Kawhi has been in his 2 Finals appearances. Congrats on a great season and an even better Finals.
Well deserved. Kawhi is a badass.
