People complaining... get over it. He was the 30th overall pick. it was either this or a Euro-stash that you wouldn't see for at least a couple years, if at all. At least this kid is skilled and has a chance to be molded and tutored by Diaw and Duncan. He could be Diaw 2.0 in a few years, who knows? He's only 20. Solid pick imo.
    RC Buford's first round picks

    2001: Tony Parker (28)
    2002: <traded for Speedy Claxton>
    2003: <salary dump for capspace>
    2004: Beno Udrih (28)
    2005: Ian Mahinmi (28)
    2006: <salary dump>
    2007: Tiago Splitter (28)
    2008: George Hill (26)
    2009: <traded to land Kurt Thomas>
    2010: James Anderson (20)
    2011: Kawhi Leonard (15), Cory Joseph (29)
2012: <traded to GS to dump 's ing horrible contract, acquire Jack>
    2013: Livio Jean-Charles (28)

I mean that's pretty ing amazing what RC has done with first rounders.

Diaw seems to do OK despite moving in molasses.
Exactly. You be surprised how having an extremely high iq will beat athleticism most of the time. Tim has always been unathletic to me when compare to Drob, young Shaquille, Kemp, Mourning, even Griffin, etc. What puts him above these guy is his bb iq. Tim always reminded me of Bird. Ultimate compe or, a leader, and one of highest bb iq ever to play the game but not the most athletic guy on the court.

Diaw slow, but he can play good D bc he knows how to position himself and isn't fooled with head fakes and such like most guys. I remember when guys in here called Green not athletic. Same people now consider him one of the best defenders in the league.

Yeah those guys win out 100% of the time over smart heady players.
Like Pops Mensah Bonsu was wayyyyyy better than Robert Horry.
What an asshole comparison. Neither of those players were very athletic. Horry can't be compared to Anderson in any way.

And Yeah, raw athletic players are brick heads. Everybody knows that.

Interesting Spurs workout Early, Glen Robinson III and Isaiah Austin.

Early and Robinson were available, but they picked Anderson instead. I guess you can't teach IQ?

Ok. here's the thing: I like Anderson. He's a very smooth offensive player and very comfortable with the ball in his hands. He's a very good 3 point shooter (48%) and he won't panic and he'll make good decisions. He's a very savvy player and a good passer. He is without a doubt a "Spurs guy."

However...other than Sim Bhullar, there is not a more inferior athlete in this draft. Anderson can't jump, can't stay with anyone on D, and does everything slow--hence the nickname 'Slomo'. Even his release on his shot is super slow.

There's a point where basketball IQ isn't enough. I think the Spurs reached a little bit with this one. He may play back-up SF...but he's a completely different player than Kawhi. We'll see.

Bonner started against OKC, of course this kid is gonna play in the POs... Easily the best end of the first round pick in years...
No chance a rookie is going to play in the playoffs for a contending Spurs team that will probably continue giving Belinelli another shot to redeem himself next year, tbh..

It's the 30th pick. There is no such thing as reaching at #30. We aren't looking for an all star or starter, just possibly a solid bench player.

over-analyzing the 30th pick in the draft for the reigning NBA champions, a player that probably won't even play in the playoffs..

If Hoops Czar and tholdren don't like him, then he's probably going to be a solid player one day, those 2 s are wrong about everything, tbh..
your boys Jeff Ayers and Marco Belinelli didn't work out so well for you. Neither did De Colo, Malik Hairston or James Anderson. I figure I have a pick to play with.

Btw, have you officially filled out the form yet. If not, what's taking so long?

We will see... Bonner started once again... If he can put on some weight he's a lock for the PO rotation...
