There should be some golden whistle for the blindest ref of tournament. Not sure who it would be, but I know for sure that the candidate list would be very long.

Thought it should've went to James--leading a team further than expected with Falcao out. Messi disappeared after the group stage and while he was still able to assist, a Golden Ball winner should be someone who was consistent or beyond consistent for their whole run. Muller would've been an ok choice...

Muller didn't do much after the group stage either tbh. Scored a gimme against Brazil. Neuer really deserved it.

True. Neuer got the GG and the only trophy that matters--James is my choice. Luis Suarez should've gotten the Golden Grill for best chomp though.

robben didn't really have a great cup. he scored 2 goals in the first group game (in what was a 5-1 blowout) and only 1 the rest of the way, and if he's not scoring he's generally useless, since he's not exactly a willing passer. when he gets the ball it typical ends up in a shot or change of possession

He touches the ball on every Netherlands attack and how many penalties did he draw?

20+ Years from now I will remember this as Robben's World Cup

Lahm? God was he horrible in the midfield. As a RB he was back to being world class.

True. And FIFA doing another stinker... Messi getting the Ballon D'or (completely undeserved), but not making the first team

Could have as well given Marc Gasol the Ballon D'or then. If you know what I mean.

damn, thats a solid amount of Bayern Munich players ... if Lahm was correctly placed as a back, they'd have at least 1 in every position, though Kroos is joining Real

After Maradona, now also Christoph Kramer said it was undeserved. And even Blatter was surprised he said.

    Marketing at its best!
