What is the evidence supporting it?
Bible freaks work the other way around... they first believe , and don't care about evidence ("without faith it is impossible to please god") then some will stop believing when is debunked aka epilepsy-demon possession sort of thing, but most wont stop believing even if they see evidence.
But God is considered by Christians to be timeless, ergo changeless and morals are considered by Christians to be absolute: what was wrong 3000 years ago is wrong today and so forth. You're saying that's not the case.
You're generalizing again, saying all Christians believe exactly the same things. This is not true.
1. You believe Jesus of Nazareth existed
2. You believe Jesus of Nazareth died on a cross
3. You believe Jesus of Nazareth rose from death
4. You believe John 3:16 to be true and you've accepted Jesus as your personal savior.
5. You might believe in virgin birth
6. You might therefore believe in the immaculate conception of Mary
7. You probably believe that Jesus healed people through faith
8. You probably believe that Jesus could actually walk on water
9. You probably believe that Jesus visited
10. You probably believe that God spoke to Paul of Tarsus.
11. You probably believe in forgiveness and in the book of the Revelations of John.
All of that comes from the same book you say is laced with allegory. Still, out of those allegories you extract supernatural things, so why is it necessary to refer to other supernatural events in the book as allegory, and since you've stated that morals evolve, why do you consider the events of the OT that we now consider to be immoral acts, that were commanded by God, to be allegories and not facts?
If you have to cherry pick the good stuff out of your book and pretend the bad stuff is just allegory, then your book is untrustworthy from start to finish.
As we all can see, those who believe believe, those who don't don't. Nothing said on an internet site is changing . All we come away with is it sucks being an dumbass atheist.

Actually I don't have these sorts of confrontations in the real world, we all get along and respect each others beliefs and opinions just fine.
And it doesn't happen on other sites that I frequent on the internet either.

I blame it on fanaticism from both sides of the fence.
And to be honest it is ONLY the atheists who are getting their panties in an uproar.
The Christians and other theists could care less and are not getting upset in the slightest.
In fact most of us are laughing at the atheists for making such a big over exaggerated deal about it.

I'm pretty sure she succeeds admirably, most of us do, and without much problem at all, in fact it is quite easy.
It is the atheists on this site who are all upset and melting down.
None of the rest of us are.
We Christians and theists on this site are quite content to get along and share what we have to share with those who have open minds and the intelligence and maturity to approach this subject with respect for both sides.

I'm not sure that I've seen anyone identify themselves as an atheist. I certainly haven't. I don't see anyone "melting down" either.
