Great move from a business perspective...no need for the valuable roster spot when your QB is out for the year and you pretty much quit on the season. Just milk this gay cow for all it's worth now

he was a 7th round pick as a pass rush specialist and he did put up 3 sacks in the preseason. couldn't hurt keeping him
You could've created this thread without that GIF. Im convinced some of you are gots.
Good PR move. There would have been to pay if they released him.
There is no doubt the guy can play, one of the better 7th round picks.
He's not a bad football player really. From what I watches, he has a quick first step and could come in on the occasional third down and rush the edge.....if you know what I mean
I'm a fan of this gif
rofl thank god this got was cut. I'm gonna hydrate myself on the tears of those who were behind this .
Ya'll are blowing your load too soon on this report.
Fisher's gonna get reamed for cutting Sam after pumping him up.
bench guys usually have to be special teamers though, so he does have that card up his sleeve
spurraider21, our boy got cut
I cannot believe you guys....wow!
You have any idea (no) how many players get cut then end up ..."starring"...for another team? Remember...James Harrison?
Steelers draft a QB out of Lousiville, they give him a good look....nay! So they dump him, he gets picked up by the Colts.....Johnny Unitas.
Slow small white guy gets drafted, yep too small. too slow, so he gets dumped, the Seahawks pick him up.....Steve Largent.
Slow down people, shessh~~~~~~~~~~
I will add this, yes the attention he got won't help, do teams really need this...no!
I watched every game.
Sam did some good things in the preseason at times rushing the passer and getting into running lanes occasionally. The effort was there. He played with a high motor and showed some physical ability. He's worked hard and kept his mouth shut(sorry)
He didn't contribute on special teams.
IMO he can be a rotation pass rusher in a 4-3...but not here in St Louis where Quinn, Long, Hayes and Sims are a solid group of DE's. Add to that UDFA rookie Ethan Westbrooks outplayed Sam in preseason.
Dallas could use a Michael Sam.
I do have a little su ion that after dfrafting Sam and seeing all the attention there was a..."we goofed and don't need this".
If Sam does fade into obscurity I doubt we'll be seeing anymore..."I'M GAY!!!!!!!"...out of some college players.
You may not WANT him, but Dallas NEEDS pass rushers.
San Francisco might grab him to appeal to their community.
Chris Mortensen @mortreport
Fisher said cutting Sam was not a difficult decision. Cited roster strength; noted a 6th rounder & all four 7th rounders did not make cut
Fisher says there are no challenges if Sam gets a second opportunity somewhere else. "He just kept his head down and worked." Praised "motor."
Fisher: "I was pulling for him. It just didn't work out."
Listening to Jeff Fisher, I would say Michael Sam is not guaranteed a practice squad spot because of other position needs.
I could see him landing in Dallas. He probably showed more in preseason than the starting DE's for the Cowboys. Plus, Jerry would love all the attention it would bring. Wasn't Sam one of the highest selling jerseys? Jerry:
