I read one opinion where the beard fad, esp the long, unkempt, Mountain Man beards, is heteros trying to prove they are Real Men, aren't s (feared as being on the rise) or even metrosexuals (too groomed to be hetero).

Sporting a solid moustache at the moment.

For those who's skin gets easily irritated try the old school single blade razors. Closest shave I've ever gotten, no irritation but time consuming. Making shaving cream, getting your skin hot first etc

I used to have a full Harden beard--I did it because the lady liked it and I managed it. Had the beard oil and beard wax to keep it frozen in time. I decided that after a couple years it was time to trim and well, I have the stache because I look too young w/o it.

Yea I guess it's trendy, but I like it. Not so much the facial hair itself but the grooming also. Most aren't the gross Duck Dynasty filth catchers; guys are putting care into maintaining their facial hair and I think they look good.
