Play the kid! he is 23 lol
That's from Oct 22nd
If you rush him back you'll increase his chance of getting an injury tbh.
Any truth to the rumor that Leonard has "Stink" eye and was staring at Tiago's back right before it got injured? Makes sense.
This is Pop letting Mark Cuban and Mavs fans know that he still owns them with one arm behind his back.
Doesn't sound good for Tiago: http://www.poundingtherock.com/2014/...ut-the-present
Q: What about Tiago's status?
Pop: No he's just out until they tell us he's okay to play but... they keep talking about his back instead of his calf so I'm just a coach, I'm confused. When they tell me he can play, then he'll start playing. And Patty (Mills) is out because of the shoulder. I don't know when that is. Probably when I'm retired.
...
The injury updates on Leonard and Splitter corraborates my observations and the information I've gathered from a couple of people. I fully expect Leonard to play the third game next Wednesday if not the second one Friday night at Phoenix. In Splitter's case it sure seemed odd for a simple calf strain to keep him over a month and now we know it's not a simple calf strain. Pop mentioned a back issue and things I've heard are even more ominous than that. All I saw him do this morning was jog slowly and stiffly on a treadmill, so it may indeed be quite a while before we see Splitter on the court.
This is probably as good a place as any to ask...
I was watching the NBATV Spurs preview, and Smitty said something about Splitter working on three pointers. Anyone else catch that? What the was he talking about?
God damn Splitter, the you do to your back?
I saw that too and had no clue. I guess Splitter shoots some in practice or during warm ups, but that does not mean he will ever take a three pointer unless the shot clock makes it necessary. How many 2 point jump shots did he try last season? 5-10 or something? I like Smitty, but he reached a little bit there ...
it may have been me just looking for something but splitter appeared to be the only spur last night that did not have a bounce to his step when accepting his ring. he seemed a bit stiff just walking.
He didn't seem to be in the bench area during the game.
That's terrible news about splitter. , I really don't like that there's a mystery about it, that's not reassuring. No le contention if splitter isn't around, hopefully it's not serious.
Baynes will be proving his worth now. He's only about 10% player splitter is, but better him than Ayres.
Agreed, a back injury and a mystery one at that is pretty ominous. Not sure about keeping the Spurs from contending tho; as has been observed Leonard plays better with Splitter off the floor. If Baynes can be effective off the bench and Diaw 2.0 does his thing in the SL they may be ok.
I apologize to Splitter if it's a back injury. I was harsh on him yesterday, saying he's soft for taking so long off with a calf strain.
I hope he is OK and it's nothing serious. We really need him out there.
I'm disappointed in the shape Boris Diaw looks to be in. He looks like he's put on more weight since playing for France.
A big "if" there, but I hope you're right.
Last year Splitter was 8-17 in 2-pt shots outside the paint and 0-3 in 3-pt attempts. 173-301 in the paint.
Kawhi a go for tomorrow's game per Pop.
Great news.
indeed great news ... the Suns will be gunning for us after preseason gate
How did Tiago's injury travel from his calf to his back? lol That's some mystery right there. Damn CIA Pop.
Kawhi is going to do some work!
Sucks about Tiago but thank God we kept Ayres. The FA is always one step ahead. They're the best!
Maybe pop systematically resting World Cup players. Tiago now, next it will be Diaw...
Kawhi missed the preseason we can't expect much from him.
