When Lou Bloom, a driven man desperate for work, muscles into the world of L.A. crime journalism, he blurs the line between observer and participant to become the star of his own story. Aiding him in his effort is Nina, a TV-news veteran.

i loved it. gyllenhaal's best performance to date. the other actors were kinda meh, but he carried it
Saw it today. Great performance by Donnie Darko. I'm smelling an Oscar nomination.
he was a piece of and different to what I'm used to from him but agreed, he was great.
He played the sociopath quite well.
I thought it was a good movie, JG with the creepy goods.
pretty much. movie was pretty good, JG was great. one of my favorite performances by anybody in recent memory
That dinner scene made me feel uncomfortable.
that was one of the best scenes in the movie, along with when he made his demands at the station
some of JG's best work, especially at the end when he helps Logan find peace, albeit not peace with God as Wagner has found, but some inner calm.
The part where he yelled at himself in front of the mirror was funny and epic. He was so obsessed with getting people to like him that he would do anything to achieve it. Did he murder the security guard at the beginning or just beat him up to steal the watch?
I never understood the hate for Jake, especially when his filmography is considered. His pugly sister, on the other hand...
Anyway, Nightcrawler is the best underdog story with a sociopathic hero since There Will Be Blood.
liberals love him and conservatives hate him because he played a gay in one movie, and he starred in the most alarmist climate change movie of all time
also because he's swedish
actually want to see this one because Robert Elswhit was the DP, and he normally does Paul Thomas Anderson's films, including Inherent Vice which looks to have a great look. apparently he shot the day scenes in film and the stuff at night on digital, so was interested in seeing his digital vision of LA at night and how they contrast. still need to see this, Gone Girl and Interstellar.
Between this, Gone Girl, and Interstellar, this movie is probably the best and most deserving or a best picture nomination. Jake Gyllenhaal should definitely get some consideration. Gone Girl and Interstellar were good but I thought Nightcrawler had a better story and a better performance by the lead actor.
