Rondo is a horrible fit in Houston and would make them a much easier matchup tbh. I don't think it really changes how the Spurs match up with the Mavs as their biggest issue is that we abuse Dirk defensively to the point where even Chandler can't make up for him.

Rondo doesn't scare me he has no jump shot and that is a huge liability come playoff time.

Rondo's a good player, but in the right system. Not sure if that's the Mavs, could go either way. He makes their back court better defensively though.
But, their front court will be seriously lacking if they give up Brandan Wright. Unless they get Humphries or another big back in return, Charlie Villanueva will be their first big off the bench.

Spurs can still beat Dallas with Rondo, but it will take a great effort.
I think some here might be underrating Rando. Dude can ball. As for Houston or Mavs getting him he could make either of those teams dangerous. How more effective he would be would depend greatly on chemistry, and someone has allready said on what they have to give up for him.

Exactly Rondo is a terrible shooter that you can leave him wide open and he will brick it. His inability to hit the open jumpshot was one of the reasons why the Celtics lost to the Lakers in '10. The Lakers put Kobe their worst defender on him knowing that Kobe could rest on defense and sag off him since he had no jumpshot. That to me was a huge difference where as in '08 Kobe got torched by both Ray Allen and Pierce.

Monta is the same player under Carlisle, he just plays more intelligent basketball..his talent level hasn't changed, he's still a very good, streaky volume scorer..
Rondo's problem isn't basketball IQ, it's lack of talent..
